I have been watching programs such as manno ya na manno and fear files. They are supposed to be true stories and they show priests, buddhists, hindus doing the exorcism. How can non islamic "religious" people (monks, pundits etc) do the exorcism using their books?

I don't think you really understand what exorcism is... exorcism is basically intimidation, threatening and punishing Demons/Jinns until they decide to leave. People in this case have developed methods over thousand of years(through experiences) which either annoy, intimidate or hurt demons/jinns and eventually makes them leave. Like humans,Jinns are also a creation bound to natural order(of their own) and have vulnerabilities besides just religion. These vulnerabilities are exploited and made use of...

example being:
- Jinns have certain likes and dislikes which is often exploited.
- Applying pain to possessed individual will hurt the jinn also.
- Certain elements can be can be a source of weakness for Jinns, for example in Pakistan, people believe taking offense with pure iron can ward off jinns.

Besides the lawful methods, magic and witchcraft is the most common practice when dealing with jinns and exorcisms.Using stronger Jinns to cast out the weaker ones etc... binding them to spells n'all.

Also Note: with Abrahamic religions, like Christianity and Judaism; the common denominator is always god, so it makes sense why they're able to perform successful exorcisms. We all appeal the same source. The one GOD.

Well this is my understanding anyway, feel free to disagree.
