Yes of course, however sehfri is a very important part of youre fasting routine.

Missing it on a regular basis without any reason is disliked

What about intention?

I'm guessing that the fast stands as long as the person makes intention to fast when they go to bed at night?

This from hadith of the day

The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said:

"He who does not determine to fast before dawn does not fast."

[Abu Dawud]

Was Salam

This adds the further quandry of 'what about fajr namaaz'?

as long as u make niyyah before fajr...and u dont need to sit there and say "oh i now make niyyah to fast tomorrow",
simply thinking oh im going to fast tommorow or such will suffice.

you can still fast, but missing sehri deliberately is against the sunnah (tark-e-sunnat) and makrooh. There are barakaat in sehri as mentioned by the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) so do not degrade your fast - rowzei ko naqis math ki jiyei.

What if you intend to wake up for sehrii but you do not?

Wont that count as intention?

Il confess, i dont read Fajr, Nor do i read Zohar, Asr,Maghrib,Isha.

Astaghfirullah i know.

But Dont forget Ramadhan is not about starving yourself - its to help us gain higher spiritual levels through more ibadah and if we are going to miss our fard i.e. 5 times salah etc then what makes us any different to the animals around?

As far as I know, you can keep the fast, but it is Makrooh...

fasting is not just about staying hungry for the day...

There are countless blessings for waking up at sehri

Dangerous advice, people are alread always looking for comprimise.

I think things like this should best stay left with learned people and not the awaam.

Bismillah
Assalamu Alaykum,

One can make ones intention until the mid-day comes in. Meaning half-way between Salat al-Fajr and Salat al-Maghrib. This is, of course, only valid if one did not do anything that would break the fast already. One could make ones intention to fast right after one breaks the fast of the previous day. Meaning you break your fast at maghrib time, and then you make niyah straight away. The only thing that would invalidate this niyah is if you make an explicit niyah not to fast. In matter of fact, if you had the intention to wake up for suhur, this would be enough of an intention, since you wake up for suhur because you intend to fast.

In the Maliki mathab it's valid to have the niyah to fast all of Ramadhan. So one could make this niyah first day of Ramadhan to make sure that ones fast would be valid according to atleast one school if one was to totally forget it.

wassalam

mutlaq niyya is permitted in the Hanafi School, fasting in the month of Ramadan will be understood as one has intended to fast for the month of Ramadan.
