When attending a course for persons going for Umrah, in Malaysia, the Ustaz told this story of the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. –
“Someone was digging a tunnel underground in Medina, to reach to the grave of the Prophet S.A.W. with ill intentions. And the Prophet S.A.W. appeared in the dream of the Governor of Medina and asked for ‘help” to prevent the desecration of his grave. And the Governor thereafter reconstructed the base and sides of the grave to prevent any such access”
This story is an insult to the Prophet S.A.W., for throughout his prophethood, he had never asked anyone for help from a helpless position. If ever he had used the word ‘help’ to his friends, it was out of politeness and not needs. His relationship with Allah was (and is) such that Allah took good care of him at all times. There are many stories of how Allah protected him and his dignity without the help of anyone.
This story has to be investigated. And unless there is irrefutable proof that the prophet had actually appeared in a dream and asked for help, this story has to be stopped and erased from any teachings or speeches.
Can you please do what is right. May Allah help us.
