So Howzabout Yanabi.com Awards?
Posted 01 September 2012 - 01:19 AM (#1)
So Ive come up with something we can all do as Yanabi.com family.
So basically we all put names forward we think best suited for each theme or award and then post votes. The individual with the most votes gets the award. Quite simple really. We also need to choose people to count the votes unless anyone is willing to volunteer?
So first and foremost we come up with some categories we think users should be praised for.
Secondly, put nominations forward (this can be done openly)
Last but not least vote for those nominated, this should be done secretly so as not to cause arguments via pm to the chosen person.
Notes: You cannot vote for the same person more than three times to spread the number of people receiving awards.
Also Mods are allowed to vote and be voted for only in the mod categories though as this is an appreciation of users type of thing.
So what are the awards?
Well theres isn’t any awards as such but you can put it as your member title so everyone knows.
So whos with me?

Nah man, we need a little more meat on this bone. What if it’s a tie? Hierarchal prize structure (i.e. bronze, silver, gold)? Is it a lifetime award or something to cling onto for a certain period? If there’s any suspicion of vote rigging (everyone with over a 1000 post is dodgy in my book), will there be some kind of an appeals panel to look into the matters raised? What’s the award ceremony going to look like?
The list can go on and on.
Btw, I don’t mind helping out with the counting. Can I get a free vote for this?

We will arrange an awards event in UK once we have reached the 50 000 land mark.

JazakiAllah Kheyr sis FTR!! Will add em to the list.
Come on people is no one else participating??
I think its a good idea to have this now before the proper live ceremony. Hmmm well we will see how well this goes maybe we can do this every year or something giving silent users that extra motivation to post a lot more...
No bronzes or silvers sorry, its gold all the way!

I am very sorry; Islam is a religion for men only; women should stay home and cook food
InshaAllah it will be a user driven event. I hope to put some of you on stage for short a presentation of your choice. If I get a chance, I would do one on the paradox of pre-destiny.

So the catgory for worst mod still stands thank god. I thought the worst mod himself may not allow us to give him his trophy lol. Am only messing your not worst mod untill you've been voted by the users. Thats the difference between this thread an the tribute one my idea and brother kaytee elles idea. The other one is a tribute by the man himself whereas this is nominating solely by the users for the users. That reminds me is there any chance of qalam comin back we miss him dearly an we need to give him his trophy lol.
PS I doubt I will be coming as Ive got a lot on only time will tell.
Thats nice to get some of the users on stage brother Tahir especially those who love bein on stage, in front of the camera acting like the boss.

(Malaikah) So you went ahead with it? Masha’ALLAH, great initiative and a great thread for us to participate in. Hey you’ve more or less covered most of the catergories. Theres one which you haven’t and that is The Yanabi Master Chef of the Year Award!!! (hohohoh!!!) and who ever wins that award he does the food for everyone at the awards ceremony! Obviously its going to be a he who wins it rather than a she (Even if nobody agrees just say ‘yes’!) and ladies don’t be offended any of you ever had the langar at the Mosque? Well?
Hey and stricktly no Shalwar Khameez for Men - its going to be an awards ceremony not no PyJaMa PaRtY (HeHeHaHa)

How about if we celebrate it with an award called JALSA JALOOS where 500,000 population would be marching in Jalsa Jaloos and top it up with a big Langer Shareef?

Good idea maybe we could have a bring a dish type thing competition and whoever wishes to participate they can cook something in shaa Allah and people can vote for the best dish. But there has to be a menu as to what you can cook or else it may not be fair.
OOh Ive got another great idea
Howzabout "Feed the Mods" - Its abit like sponging the teachers if anyones ever heard of that? Well, Basically we have some food right like tomatoes or anything that looks like spongy food. Anyway the mods are tied to the wall or somthing and you throw food at them
I know who I would feed!!

Sorry but I can't help but correct your grammar, just like when you leave the public toilets and there is a trail of toilet paper stuck on your heel and you don't notice it, everyone else giggles knowing it's there but you wonder why they are staring at you. lol
