This is probably one of the most interesting discussions I have watched in recent times.
Learned brothers and sisters how can we logical address the major premise of his argument?

The discussion itself is pretty much a false one in the current scenario. Those that disagree just watch the news for 30 minutes. Its akin to finding your own house on fire and not helping your family - with your wife shouting call the firebrigade and you shouting back not until you grow a beard.

Bro, looking for a serious response
The objective of this thread is to learn counter arguments to a very logical objection.

Salam Tahir bhai,From what I've heard so far his definition of deen is 'that which purifies the body, both inward and outward, and the soul'. That is a novel definition and I thinkOne not shared by the classically trained scholars. So the counterargument is that we do not agree with your premise ie your definition of deen is wrong.
His example of circumcision is also flawed based on his own argument: the reason Muslims remove their foreskin is not primarily for hygiene reasons (as he implies) but because it was done to symbolise the covenant between the Jews and God and we follow that tradition. It is fairly easy to keep the foreskin clean by washing it. So, by his own argument should we stop circumcising our sons?
However I like his approach and intellectual style as opposed to our shouting fire and brimstone all singing maulvis!
