The British Muslim Forum, Markazi Jamat-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat UK & Europe and other Sunni organisations have announced that because the moon cannot be seen anywhere in Europe, Africa and Asia, we will be completing 30 days of Shaban and the first of Ramadan will be on Saturday 21 July, and Taraweeh prayer on Friday night (June 20) after Isha.

The following map (from HM Nautical Almanac) clearly shows the moon cannot be seen anywhere in Saudi Arabia tonight (for them to declare tonight as the first night of Ramadan and Friday the first day of fasting): http://astro.ukho.go...extnewmoon.html

As'salaamu Alaykum,

We did not receive any reliably confirmed reports of the new crescent moon being sighted anywhere in the world on the evening of Thursday, July 19th.

Here in the United States of America we will complete the 30 days of Sha'ban and begin Ramadan Friday evening with the first day of the fast on Saturday, July 21st.
