Salams,

(those of us living in the UK) A really interesting short documentary was on last night, did anybody manage to watch? No! Here's the chance to catch up.

Some of us think we have it bad living in the UK as Muslims, imagine what it would have been like over 100 years ago?!?

This is what people of God do - they persevere in something which they strongly believe in. Please leave your thoughts.

An excellent programme that everyone should watch. I must admit prior to watching this programme I had never heard the names of some of the early reverts in the UK. Only Pickthall is really well known due to his translation of the quran.

May Allah(swt) grant them all Jannah tul Firdaus.

What a refreshing documentary about neglected geniuses!!!

It seem all their efforts to reduce Islamophobia went in vain because of the saudi-sponsored preachers spreading radical Wahhabism and today's intolerant sufism.

Allah doesnt need any scholar/pir/mullah (chanda-parties) to guide his people. Subhan Allah, He feeds a bird in the middle of the desert, and He can bless any Abdullah Quilliam embracing Islam in Victorian Britain.

PS: Stop importing preachers into your country.

Its an honourable blessing from ALLAH SWT on to us when He (SWT) bestows such people as Marilyn Mornington into Islam. Highly articulate and confident New Muslims coming into Islam only benefits those of us who were born as Muslims (they kind of in a way) become our spokes(men/women) for those (non-muslims) who do not understand or have a very distorted view of Islam (unfortunately, due to some of our own negligence)

Its always a joy to read/listen to stories of how New Muslims came back to Islam, here Ms Mornington talks to Shaykh Hamza Yusuf about her experiences as a District Judge, her vast research in to family law (she is also a writer) the fairness of the Islamic Sharia Law and the Influences of Hazrat Prophet Muhammad S.A.W and the Blessed People (R.A) during the time of Prophet (S.A.W) played in her being at peace within herself by finding and following A Religion that accomadated her beliefs.
