Assalaamu alaykum WR ALLAH WB,

I believe I'm at a point in my life where I'm ready for a Murshid (spiritual guide). Please recommend any good ones(non-charlatans). Also, I understand there a 4 dariqahs? What are the main differences between them and which is the closest to the Sunnah as I know some permit music, mixing and other craziness .

Thanks and may Allah SWT be pleased with you. Ameen.

I know of one Arab but he will not take any mureed. You have to prove you read all 5 daily Prayers, read a Juz/Para a day after Fajr and if that is not possible read Durood Shareef in the amount it would take you to read that Juz. Dedicate yourself to the Sunnah and I really mean dedicate, pray Tahujud then Ishraj. Always be in the state of Zikr and form a strong bond with Allah and his RasoolAllah Salalla Hu Alahi Wa Salaam.

He is the mureed of Hazrat Habib Umar, his name is Shakyh Emad. He is originally from Palestine, he does come to the UK but usually lives in the States. A very influential speaker who would rip your heart out, clean it and put it back in your body so your soul feels alive again.

If you are REALLY WILLING to do this I can get his contact info from a friend of mine.

I had no idea you guys replied till now.. I was actually planning to reply to myself...for real hehehehe

One superb example of craziness and I'm sure you'd agree my bro, is the prostrating some do to their Pir physically or, if not physically, then still do but internally with their hearts by say praying to them instead of Allah SWT. Believing the Murshid can see you at all times! There was one website I remember where I read that one could make bay’ah anytime as the shaykh Murshid would know. Treating the Murshid like a king by kissing his hands etc. The misguidance in that is evident (to me anyway) as the Prophet SAW himself wasn’t all seeing nor would the sahabah RA even stand up for him let alone anything else.

I’m also uncomfortable with hadra. The thikr is fine but why the bowing or the deliberate head turning ( when it doesn’t come spontaneously and the movement is forced)? And what about wajd experiences on youtube I mean are they credible? The jerking and jumping? The four great Imaams never did that which frankly makes be suspicious bro …who knows.. maybe the energy and passion are actually coming from shaytaan just like they were for this young man and note the young man here was being sincere in his efforts to 'ascend' to Allah SWT just like the youtube brothers and others might be…

Quote

Ebrahim was told of an ecstatic youth who had

extraordinary experiences and disciplined himself

severely.
“Bring me to him so that I may see him,” he said.
They took him to the youth.
“Be my guest for three days,” the youth invited him.
Ebrahim stayed there and observed the youth’s state

attentively. It surpassed even what his friends had said. All night he was sleepless and restless, not reposing or slumbering for a single moment. Ebrahim felt a certain jealousy.

“I am so frigid, and he is sleepless and unresting the whole night through. Come, let us investigate his case,” he said to himself. “Let us discover if anything from Satan has invaded his state, or whether it is wholly pure and in all respects as it should be. I must examine the foundation of the matter. The foundation and root of the matter is what a man eats.”

So he investigated what the youth was eating, and

discovered that it came from unhallowed sources.

“God is most great. It is Satanic,” Ebrahim

exclaimed.

ebrahim ibn adham

79

“I have been your guest for three days,” he said to the youth. “Now you come and be my guest for forty days.”

The youth accepted. Now the food Ebrahim ate was earned by the labour of his own hands. He took the youth to his home and gave him of his own food. Immediately his ecstasy vanished. All his ardour and passion disappeared. That restlessness and sleepless- ness and weeping of his departed.

“What have you done to me?” he cried.

“Yes,” Ebrahim answered. “Your food was unhal- lowed. Satan was all the time going and coming in you. As soon as you swallowed lawful food, the manifesta- tions he had been contriving in you became revealed for what they were, the Devil’s work.”

I don’t wish to offend with my post. I hope you will correct me if my points don’t hold water. Also if you could recommend me any Shaykh as close to the salaf as possible, he doesn’t have to be famous anything. I really want to find a shaykh before I lose this desire. Peace.

Masha ALLAH very knowledgeable but why doesnt he have a long beard. It's true that not all bearded Muslims are pious but all pious people should be bearded.. right? It was the sunnah of not only Mohammad SAW but all the Prophets PBUT. Perhaps there's a really good reason that I'm missing...

@ bro raza, I noticed your signature "nahno ibaado Mohammadin" (We are the slaves of Muhammad)...please explain what you mean because an average Muslim would consider that as going against tawhid al 'uboodiyyah. Maybe you could explain. Thanks.

MaashAllah Brother I'm very happy to read the passion you are showing, may it never be extinguished and may it lend a spark to me especially and to others.

Brother you've been very frank and honest and that is so refreshing, you don't seem tainted to defend any alegiance. Reality is that what you seek is actually seeking you, maybe the time has come for you, hence the harakaat in you.

When you find your true Shaykh most of your other questions will be answered for you.

Try not to judge someone by the length of their beard, some Mashaaikh especially from Egypt and other Arabs CANT ACTUALLY GROW A FULL LENGTH BEARD, Some (Arabs mainly) have natural goatees they cant grow hair on their cheeks.

I don't understand why you limit it to English speaking Shayukh only? You must know Arabic because you are from Somalia and studying in Egypt but anyway, English speaking Shayukh;

Shaykh Nazim Adil Al-Haqqani
Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi

And if length of the beard is not an issue then;

Shaykh Muhammad bin Yahya Al-Ninowy

I wish I could do that. Who's with me?

One of my friend has been blessed by his company. He traveled to Mauritania with one of his students and he talked about the wonderful journey and Shykh's village. out of this world, truly uplifting spiritual experience.

Just pray for me that I am able and allowed to go. Jazakallah

I do not know why he does not have a full length beard. Perhaps his beard does not grow out all the way. I have came across people who would ask me and friends to dua that their beard grow and the only thing they were able to grow was a single piece of hair.

Regarding my signature about the durood shareef. RasoolAllah Salalla Hu Alahi Wa Salaam is the slave/Prophet of Allah. We are also the slaves of Allah. However from all the Prophets that have came we belong to the Ummah of our Prophet Muhammad Salalla Hu Alahi Wa Salaam. We represent Rasool Allah Salalla Hu Alahi Wa Salaam and on the day of Judgement He Salalla Hu Alahi Wa Salaam will intercede for us.

RasoolAllah Salalla Hu Alahi Wa Salaam is our teacher and we go through paths to reach the top of the mountain. This is why we follow the ulema who lead to another to path who lead to the Wali Allah who lead to the Tabian who lead to the Ahle Bayt who are with the Sahaba and who lead to RasoolAllah Salalla Hu Alahi Wa Salaam. We are at the top of the mountain now with Him Salalla Hu Alahi Wa Salaam. The next step is to be with Allah and if you are with his Rasool Salalla Hu Alahi Wa Salaam you are indeed with Allah. Since you could love Allah with all your heart and soul but if you do not show infection and love for his Rasool Salalla Hu Alahi Wa Salaam, what's the point of that love.

Our Habib Salalla Hu Alahi Wa Salaam is the greatest of creations and we must keep reminding ourselves of that. He Salalla Hu Alahi Wa Salaam did everything for us that we have today. HE Salalla Hu Alahi Wa Salaam would pray day and night for his Ummah. He Salalla Hu Alahi Wa Salaam is the master of the Ummah and of course Allah is the creator of everything and we will have to answer to Allah. Allah is god, Allah has always been and will always be but we must remember the first thing Allah azwajalla created was the Noor of Rasool Allah Salalla Hu Alahi Wa Salaam.

Of course everyone in the world is the slave of Allah azwajalla without a doubt since Allah created us. However not everyone is the slave of our Rasool Allah Salalla Hu Alahi Wa Salaam.

I hope that cleared it up for you

Assalaamu'alaikum :)

I dont get why you have so many questions lol? No dhikr, full beard and no movements whats all this about?

When you have pledged your allegiance to your Shaykh you MUST do as your told. You have to act like theres no mind in you "like a dead body to its washer", can you do this?

Anyway, there are reasons for the movements and with the beard what if one cannot grow a beard? Dhikr is allowed, it brings one closer to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta Ala how can the circles in the Remembracne of Allah take you away from Allah? Wajd from Shaytaan ?? lol... Just buy a few books do some research, listen to a few Shuyukh and read up about it beofre plunging in at the deep end and not being able to hack it. I had to wait a good few years till I was given the opportunity to take bay'ah.

Hope this helps

Oh yeh I forgot abt my promise not to post anymore. One post always leads to another then another and so on.

Brother Wannachange, you have so many reservations which need to be addressed before you can commit to any Murshid.

Answers will not merely drop in your lap, you have to go out there and spend time with Ulema and understand why some do Dikhr in such and such a fashion, why some kiss the hands of their Sheikh. There is no point jumping to conclusions and believing what you read and watch off the internet as it's mostly diluted in bias or posted by a hater.

-Who prays to their Peer? Astagfirullah! That is another twisted notion which some people like to believe.

-Why English Murshid? Surely you are fluent in Arabic?

-You've learned about wajd by watching You Tube videos mixed in with Street Fighter Music, so surely you've learned everything you need to know? Not.

If you are really interested, learn with an open mind not a prejudice mind.

Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi, he needs no introduction!

Just listening to his speeches make your heart melt. A Sayyid from a noble family of scholars, the leader of the Syrian Revolution
and a reviver of spirituality (as predicted by Awliya Allah).

They speak English as well!
