Assalaamu alaykum WR ALLAH WB everyone,

I’m new here but I still hope members here will support this idea in order to significantly boost activity on this forum.

IMO more people would frequent this forum - like they do Forum.com which has at least 100 users at any one time if I’m not mistaken- had more members made a concerted effort to reply to more threads in the spirit of Islamic unity. I really think the solution is simply to start posting more to get the ball of discussions ‘rolling’.

Here are some steps for a start insha Allah. I’m hoping others will modify/contribute to the list. Do let me know if these maybe problematic in anyway.

  • 1. Sign up as an unofficial ‘active’ member meaning you will dedicate an 1hr, 30min, 10min or whatever you can schedule in on a daily basis for the purpose of helping others exclusively.
  • 2. Always make the intention before posting to please Allah SWT so that if others appreciate your help or not it has no effect on one’s enthusiasm either way.
  • 3. Strive to build a stronger sense of community amongst ourselves by being kind and returning favors and going the extra mile whenever we can. Not only is this a reward in itself, it will also attract others who, after seeing how ‘tight’ members are here, will want to join in and be a part of the ‘club’.
  • 4. Never leave a thread without zero replies. Out of consideration for the thread starter and so others are not discouraged from starting threads because they probably will be if OPs are being ignored/neglected.

So are we up to it? Let’s all sign up here to commit to 10, 15, 30 etc. minutes daily to help each other out and help this site surpass its potential. Just sign up even if you don’t think you can commit and let it be a spiritual exercise of tawakkul (reliance on Allah SWT). Who knows maybe by our small but sincere efforts we could triple or quadruple the activity on this site!

Signing up format

No.-UserName-Days-Amount of time (other than the time you normally spend browsing and replying)

1.Wannachange-everyday-15min

Feel free to let me know what you guys think, moderators and everyone else too.

Thanks for your time. Please seize the moment and signup now. May Allah SWT give us hope always. Ameen.

Wassalaamu alaykum WR ALLAH WB

I think books should be included in the website for download .That will increase the number of user visiting the website and probably the will increase the number of user viewing the forum.
Narrated Hazrat `Umar bin Al-Khattab(radiallahu 'anhu): I heard Allah's Apostle[sallahu alihi wasalam] saying,"Deeds (their correctness and rewards) depend upon intentions, and every person gets but what he has intended. So whoever emigrated for worldly benefits, or for a woman to marry, his emigration is for what he emigrated for."

Wa Alaikum mus Salam,

Forum, reflects the views, issues and problems within our communities. Our fellow Muslims don't even say Salam to their own siblings let alone welcome, users to the forum. Unfortunately, most of the users belong to certain Pirs, groups or organizations and they only appear to promote their merits or events and never waste their time on replying to 'irrelevant' topics. I'm glad that 100's users regularly sign-in on other forums and i wish if they spend their time on helping and supporting their fellow Muslims brothers and sisters, instead of backbiting, accusing others and throwing them away (out of Islam).

Anyway, I appreciate your concern and useful suggestions. I wish, that everyone, could feel the urge to help, support and tolerate each other, not only on the forums but in the real "offline" world as well then we might be living in a different world, where our men wouldn't be cutting their beards, hiding their turbans and women should not be afraid of wearing wearing Islamic veil, in our own Muslim majority countries.

I second bro DS - The purpose of our life has changed instead of pleasing Allah swt, we are salve to our wishes and desires. What best way to please Allah other than serving humanity for the sake of pleasing Allah swt, without hypocritical display (riya') and the pursuit of fame.

That sounds like an awesome idea actually.. an Islamic Library. We could start a thread and attach to posts authentic books on Fiqh, Hadith, Tasawwuff etc. because links are prone to ‘expiring’. Maybe first start by compiling a list of say 20 good books to include in our library then, on top of our 20 books, we could each commit to uploading a book per week or month. If enough people chose to participate and by the blessing of Allah SWT, we’ll have an extensive comprehensive library in a matter of a few months insha Allah! We can do it. Great idea.

Now hows about you sign up for 10 min daily (on top of the time you normally spend on this forum) helping others out? Com’on bro. What do ya say?

Jazak Allah.

Wassalaamu alaykum WR ALLAH WB

Thanks for the support bro :). I agree there’s too much division and self righteousness and not enough brotherhood and humility. But something can be done to turn the situation around…something can always be done with Allah’s SWT help. All we need is a few good members to be the “fi’ah qaleelah”in this challenge. Allah SWT will make things work if we rely on Him as He SWT loves. We can do this insha Allah! You know last night I even had a dream some 6-10 people signed up! Insha Allah they will. We’ve already got me and zeenshangtk (don’t make me eat my words man :)) and others will join in too insha Allah.

So AM3 (active member 3), where you at? :)

Jazak Allah

I couldn't agree with you more. Masha ALLAH. Even though you're already an active memeber we'd still appreciate it if you'd join in.;)

This site has enough content to keep busy around 100-150 active users every 15 mind. Still heavy traffic on the site,it's just that majority of users/guests tend to sign in only when in-need of help and not generally presenting their opinions.

I think it's fair to mention that if someone receives advice etc.. he/she should return the favor and give advice to others in-need of advice. And the cycle should continue.

I agree, most of the new user who join this site , they are in need of help or advice and once they are over their problems than they tend to forget us :(

I always encourage my fellow brethren to stay for longer and share their ideas with us. But sadly most of them don't come back. I can count some names on my fingers right now whom I spoken to. But I believe they are helping people out there one way or the other. Not everybody is on PC 24/7 like us. Their jobs might not allow them spend 8-9 hours a day on a computer.

wanachange - yes, of-course. I am indebted to people on this site so If I can do anything to help, I will. Inshallah

Thanks for dropping in and it’s true that people don’t really stick around but we can change that insha Allah by making this forum a place they love to be. So can we count you in insha Allah to dedicate some extra time to spread brotherhood and kindness? I appreciate you letting me know insha Allah. Thanks.

If we could get at least 10 people on board it would be a start and Brother DS could keep track of changes in traffic updating us every week perhaps. Would that be possible brother DS?

Also, I think it’d be a good idea to ‘sign-in’ here (this thread) when we’re being ‘active’. For accountability and to keep this project alive. I’ll add this point to the OP insha Allah.

Finally, there’s only one thing that should motivate us in this challenge/project. It’s so important that we are sincere otherwise it’s a waste of time and worse.

Finally finally, numbers mean nothing; a hand full of people or less can do this. We should see this more as a spiritual exercise than anything else (though results matter to some extent).

If you agree with the last point then let’s remember that Allah SWT is aware of that and is watching us. Tell Him SWT right now that you are signing up for His pleasure and that you believe anything is possible with His SWT help. Don’t feel awkward and just please do it

Waiting for others to join soon insha Allah. Besides, you’ve got nothing to lose, innmal a’maalu biniyyah meaning we will be rewarded for our intentions regardless of the results. The reward itself is in the striving anyway and not in the results wallahu a’lam.

Jazak Allah

Thanks bro for joining. It looks like my dream is slowly coming true! I'd appreciate it if could signup in the format indicated in the OP.

And its true that some people dont have time for the internet but i think others just aren't interested enough among other reasons. Wallahu a'alam. I get what you're saying though.

Thanks again.

Assalaamu alaykum WR ALLAH WB

I think another way to to help this forum do better is by striving to be more religious. Examples, brothers ad sisters refraining from being very friendly, avoiding cursing and malicious sarcasm, admitting to mistakes and just behaving ourselves as we would if the Prophet SAW were in our company. Also, renewing our intention every time we post is critical. Behaving as such will increase the baraka (blessing) of this Forum insha Allah.

Asslamalikum,

What a noble idea, a online circle where we can help others. Beautiful. SubhanAllah.

As DS Bhai rightly pointed out, forums have become a virtual fighting ground, it's not about humanity or brotherhood, it's more about status, pride and arrogance. If we did help one another the Ummah wouldn't be a in this much pain.

Count me in, let me know what is required from me and InshaAllah I will try my best to help others and reach out.

I've tried this, but what of people who can't even share their real names or faces?

I can't take the online arena seriously anymore, not untill we Atleast know each others real names...

15 min from me brother, I can use my exceptional abilities at Google search to help people. ;D
You know, sometime all a person needs is reassurance, because many people already know the answer to the question they're about to ask.

That's so true Bro.

Sometimes people have the answers, they have done all the thinking reflecting and even helped themselevs, they just need an impartial person to give them some confidence, to pat them on their back and a few words of encouragement, words which may seem little words to us, but for that person stuck in a dark tunnel they are light, they are big words. Don't underestimate the power of speech.

Thanks a lot for joinng sister its really appreciated.

The idea is to respond to more threads posts showing members that you care about them -which we genuine should for Allah’s SWT sake. So besides the time you normally spend on the forum, you’d also spend an extra amount of time to go out of your way helping members with their queries, giving sound advice, or just praying for them. I, for instance, will set aside 15 min daily to post help others out as shown in the list. Let me know how much time you can commit and during what days so that I can add your name to list too. Hopefully others will follow suit. I hope I’m clear. Jazak Allahu khair.

True it’s relatively difficult, but still possible.. I know from firsthand experience (lol). When people try to open up and build rapport between each other being their true selves ,the feeling of anonymity goes out the window and you know this because you no longer have the guts to ask ‘sensitive’ questions…hehe. Plus if we are sincere, Allah SWT will not let our efforts go to waste and out of His SWT endless Kindness He SWT will cause our hearts to feel genuine care for each other in a way that pleases Him SWT. There’s no doubt about it. Thanks for you input though and I hope you’ll join in anyway bro. :)

Jazak Allahu khair.
