Kabul: The Taliban have released a video, which they say shows the heads of Pakistani soldiers who they captured in a cross-border raid from Afghanistan and beheaded.

The beheading, claimed by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, took place on Sunday when Taliban militants from Afghanistan infiltrated into the northwestern district of Upper Dir.

A senior security official in Peshawar confirmed that a total of 17 soldiers were targeted by the attackers who came from Afghanistan’s Kunar province.

“Six troops were killed on the first day and another seven were slaughtered the next day,” News24 quoted the official, as saying.

“Four were missing and now they have also been beheaded,” the official added.

According to the report, the video prepared by the Taliban's media wing shows 17 severed heads of soldiers placed on a white sheet while masked men stand behind clutching assault rifles captured from the soldiers.

Local security officials confirmed that all the victims were Pakistani soldiers.

The same ppl and likes of them brutalized Shia communities for years now, but that usually goes unnoticed by Sunni communities in Pakistan...because somehow you think Shias deserve it or simply indifference toward the crimes being committed. Yes, but the question is why the entire Pakistani governments, ISI and the army are careless about that? Why they can't get the point that sectarian killings and sectarian chants are for divide and rule policies... why they always believe the baseless claims that Shias were after Islamic revolution in Pakistan and that is why Sunnis rose against them? What revolution? How is it possible to build a Welayate Faqi in Pakistan when more than 75% of the country is Sunni? Even if an Islamic revolution would have taken place, Sunni benefited the most and naturally gained power. What are the negative impacts of Pak-Iran relations? Except that to please Saudis and Saudis who want to please their masters.

Today, those who paid Pakistan to severe ties with Iran and oppress its own Shia citizens are even denying that money and destroying the entire country! Now who else is left to please? See you have to remember that Pakistan is run by political parties who represent the interest of only themselves. Many times it is in the interest of political parties to allow mullah's to fight amongst each other - because if they are fighting each other they can never get into power! Also the same secular parties then tell the world look at the religious people they cannot run a government. Thats why historically the religious parties very rarely get many seats in parliament.

Secondly the international game played out in pakistan is between wahabi money and iranian money - each government trying to influence its own people. The only country that Saudi fears is iran because of obvious political reasons but also because it also has a big shia region. Iran fears a wahabi pakistan because it shares a border with both afghanistan and pakistan and thus does not want takfiri's on its borders.

Killing shia's is never designed to get rid of them - it is designed to keep them afraid, quiet and cowed. If we go back before the 1980's there was very little problem between the shia or the sunni's. This was the case historically in iraq too. But divide and rule only works when 2 groups hate each other. Hence the dogma being preached is one of sole right to divine truth, with the other being on the path to hell. The more you pull the people apart the more they fear and hate you.

Have you noticed how the sunni became the party of sahaba and the shia the party of ahlul bayt - its not by default but by design. Now ask any sunni about shia and they say they are gustakh of sahaba and ummahtul momineen. Ask any shia about the sunni and they say they are the haters and killers of ahlul bayt. Its a self fullifilling prophecy and there are agents of shaitan on both sides who will see to it that we continue to hate each other and misunderstand each other.
