Been a while since I started a topic due to work load (and the fact that nobody replies to my posts anyway!)
But I’ve been thinking about this for a while.
Islam is about DOING. The word Islam is an action and a Muslim is one who DOES ISLAM. What I see often is Islamic events with hundreds and sometimes thousands of attendees. The events are great no doubt and serious matters are discussed however what’s the point in attending several of these a year when you’re not going to make serious changes to your life?
Is it to feel better? Why not just get on with it? Go and implement simple yet powerful actions that Islam teaches like:
- being good to people (ie to your partners, siblings, parents, strangers both Muslim and Non-Muslin)
- Smiling at people
- giving salaam
- forbidding the bad and encouraging goodness
- Earning a halal living – ie through being honest and trustworthy
Muslims at this moment in time can certainly talk the talk (which is arguable) but don’t walk the walk.
So, once again, what’s the point?
JUST GET ON WITH IT GUYS!
