Often overlooked - this lecture looks at the importance of halal rizk in our ibadaat's. Some amazing examples from the life of nabi a.s, sahaba and awlia allah. Who said its easy being a muslim!

You're right brother MR, earning halal is the basis of being a Muslim. Haraam earning is root of many ills in the society.

When our children grow up and are disobedient to us and don't follow Islam and rather follow western culture. We complain, why , not thinking what have we put into their bellies???

One of the best lesson my father used to give me when I was young was about earning halal. He used to say "I have trust in you because I have only put halal in you"

If you look at the lives of the pious people, you will find out how much importance they gave to the halal rizq. They won't even eat a morsel if they had small percentage of doubt about it. Reminds of the story of Imam Shafi(I think) where his father once gave him a glass of milk not knowing where it came from but made him vomit all of it after realizing his mistake. But he used to say that even later in his life he still felt the consequences of drinking that milk.

If that's the consequences of eating/drinking small amount of food then what of us sinners. we need to ponder on this over and over again.

No matter how much prayer, fasting or charity we do if what in our belies is not earned though halal means then there's no hope for us. These rituals then become just the physical activities of the limbs, nothing more, nothing less.

Repentance is a strange mount -
it jumps towards heaven in a single moment from the lowest place
