sis maulana rum was originally from afghanistan - i would imagine it is farsi

Yes this is farsi thats why I asked kay farsi main bhi dama dam hay esa lugta hay kay easy persian hay sounds kay unhon nay nahe likhi muger may be.

Much of Urdu comes from Farsi. In fact for a period of time, Farsi was the official language of the subcontinent. The complete Pakistani national anthem is in Farsi except for one word "ka" which is Urdu. (Paak sar zameen "ka" Nizam)

You'd be forgiven for thinking this wasnt Rumi's (ra) work due to mch similarity in the two languages.
