You know, usually I am completely pro giving benefit of the doubt. If I overhear something slightly questionable, I'll be the first to pardon them. But on TV it's entirely a different matter - the masses can EASILY be misled, and in fact this is the problem. The actions of the ignorant at shrines, for example, transgress that which even their scholars would permit. This is the result of miscommunication. Even those scholars who allow Taweez do so with conditions, i.e. that your dependence is on Allah and not the item itself, but people can easily - in their ignorance and miscommunication - fall into Shirk. And I'm not saying that from a Salafi perspective at all.
My objection with this advert is this deifying way of referring to the respected deceased (who it is I don't know). Asking for the "bestowal of blessings" is something that I only associate with asking Allah - tawassul which the Ahl as-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah have allowed (e.g. see Notions that Must be Corrected by Shaykh Sayyid Muhammad ibn Alawi al-Makki al-Maliki) is asking Allah for blessings by virtue of xyz.
Muhammad is a man, unlike humankind,
Nay, truly! He is like a ruby amongst stones...
