I came across this on Shaykh Hamza's website -- a list of all his book recommendations on all sorts of topics. Now, I love reading
and have a huge personal library (I read and buy about 50 books every year) but I was left in awe of HY's learning and erudition.
Which of our desi scholars can compete?

You clearly have allot of time on your hands spending all day on the forum; thing is I don't and it'll be far easier for me to ban you, rather than sifting through your crap and deleting it.

I hope it doesn't come to that.
Feel free to PM me if you have any health issues / minor ailments such as headache, constipation, runny nose etc

Confidentiality will be maintained.

Dr Q
i have about 2000-2500 books on many different topics shared between my bedroom and the garage.
I read very eclectically. About a quarter of the books are on Islam esp. sufism.
The rest are novels, science and maths, poetry, etc.

i keep Amazon in business!!

I like the way Hamza Yusuf has read books across the spectrum and has not limited himself by reading Muslim authors only. Infact I expected him to be well read.

Reading improves the lethargic mind and I'm most impressed by SS's big collection of Books. You can always tell a reader from a non reader.

I am not trying to blow my own trumpet but i do think that this lack of reading
is one of the main reasons muslims are behind the times. The other tragedy is that those who do read
often only read books on islam. Worse still they only read books on islam written by authors
from their own sect or subsect.

The more broadly you read the more your mind expands.
I think that books should be there for people to read and judge for
themselves. Thus i am against censorship of books.
