Your reply has come too quick - it is obvious you did not read the full fatwa.

Your replies belie your obvious soft corner for those who supported the INSULTER of the Prophet, and your haughtiness - you can read and trash a fatwa of 10 pages - issued by grand muftis - in no time! You are obviously taking it "personal" - whilst the matter is one of "principle". Matters of principle warrant much more than "academic" glances - and yet you came to a super-fast conclusion that the fatwa is ..............

This fatwa is not issued in isolation: it compliments so many others regarding the same issue.

Nevertheless, the entire fatwa (questions posed in Arabic, plus the fatwa in Arabic) - with the full translations is attached for perusal. So that no one can say that the facts were not presented to these muftis (just like what deobandis say about Hussam ul Haramain).

Due to size restrictions, all the files cannot be attached in this post.

Yes, sure Salman taseer is dead. So are ibn Ubai, Abu Jahl, Abu Lahab and many others. And so are the entire nations of Aad & Thamud, etc.

That does not mean we cannot discuss their misdeeds, as a warning and a reminder. After all, doesn't the Holy qur'an repeatedly mention the nations that have passed away? Brother DS, the ayah you presented in fact is the grim reminder after mentioning the punishments meted out to the rebellious.

The point is clear; we are not discussing the man: we are discussing the issue of insulting the prophet (Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) - may Allah protect us from slighting anything HE deems great. The fatwa does have a lot to offer for thought.

It seems bizarre - yemen is a state in turmoil. Yet obviously someone from pakistan has gone over to the yemen to ask they give their opinion. I wont say they went and ask for a fatwa of kufr because that would be leading. I would imagine they went there and said to them what do you think of this man? And the yemeni scholars must have deliberated for days if not weeks, called in urdu and english language experts to ensure there was no loopholes in their fatwa.

Part of me thinks that there is an inherent inferiority complex amongst south asian muslims. Until the arab ulema stamp something its not official sort of thing.

Without wishing to open a murky issue again - surely the pakistani ulema and the yemeni ulema would be better off accounting their rulers for the kufr they do?

Doesnt allah say in surah al maida that if you dont judge by allah's law you are evil, zaalim and kafir? Why have we never had a fatwa of kufr on the rulers? Surely it is a massive crime against islam that you create a country in the name of islam and then sit in power doing exactly the opposite? For the ahle hadith bro's - is there a bigger shirk than this? For the magnificient and saved AsWJ is there a bigger insulter of the prophet a.s than the one who claims to be his successor is actually the successor of shaitan?

There arent many who deny that Taseer was a vile person and anathema to most ordinary pakistani's. however we should not become judge jury and executioner for a man whose case never went to court and now will never do! Leave the matter for allah - because surely if he insulted rasool e kareem s.a.w he wont be enjoying his time now!

There exists a difference of opinion between staunch Sunnis and liberals (who believe the rule of law is king) YaNabi has permitted both views to be expressed and discussed.

The burning point is if Salman Taseer himself committed blasphemy. Some say it is not clear; others say he did not.

As God fearing Sunnis, we believe that by mocking the Pakistani law defending the azmat of our Prophet (SAW) he committed kufr. Not to forget he defended a famous blasphemer.

Whether you are a staunch supporter of Ghazi Mumtaz Qadri or not, this lecture should educate you on our position

I think you should hold judgement against the honourable Mufti(s) who wrote the fatwa. He is asked a question pertaining to Shari'a and it's his job to respond to what is a very serious issues. Unless you have read it, analysed and are in a position to comment on the legal grounding and evidences of the fatwa you should respect it.

Just because some people do give silly fatwas it's dangerous to generalise the many many learned and noble men of the ummah who engage with the affairs of the ummah with utmost sincerity.

Salams,

The year is 2063 the world has become a smaller planet where America and Europe are joined together by a superfast underground rail network tunnel that connects New York and London. Workers from London commute to New York on these superfast (sleepover) trains in 3 hours on hourly basis and vise versa.

The Worlds largest underwater holiday resort has opened up on the East of Japan where a 57 story 10 star hotel which houses a leisure, shopping and a Disney themed amusement park has been built inside the Pacific ocean 3 miles off the coast of Japan.

Pakistan The worlds No.1 army for a record 66th year has been overtaken by the Saudi's Royal Armed Forces for the first time in history.

Hmmm...Yes, Truly the world in 2063 has moved on!

But hey wait a minuite...........

what have we here? (Listen Listen) Our Phool Phoolei (flowery flower) Grandchildren are still discussing the validity and permisibilty of an act carried out by 'Ghazi' Mumtaz Qadri (50 odd years earlier) a full 25 volume books and counting (each book having 330 pages each) have been written on Ghazi Qadri Miracoulous life. ...... oh yes and the other thing - his followers fondly call themselves followers of Mumtaziat Shareef (Town renamed after Mumtaz Qadri) aka 'The asli Qadri's' - Mumtazi' Qadri's ...each follower carries a handgun as a mark of respect as this was an example of Ghazi Mumtaz Qadri examplary life..............
......... and in Europe, after 40 years of protests - Paklish has been recognised as an official European Language!

br qadri muslim - though i dont class myself as a liberal - I would say that categorically islam is for the rule of law. There is no doubt in my mind about this - you cannot hand out fatwa's and punishment without due process of law taking place. For one it is not befitting of a civilised people and secondly it is unjust and allah is not unjust.

Remember a judge found in favour of a jew against syedna ali a.s even though ali a.s brought as witnesses his sons. Can u imagine todays mullah factory producing fatwa after fatwa against that judge?

I have even come across an event where Umar r.a sacked a judge because when Umar r.a walked into court he stood up for him out of respect for his position as caliph. Umar is reported to have said this person can not be just!

Criticising Pakistani law isnt a sin. Infact the whole of Pakistan's penal code is a shambles an insult to allah and his rasool s.a.w - how can you have an english legal system mixed with shariah penalties? Recall how rasool allah s.a.w was offered similar deals of power sharing or mixture of laws and he s.a.w rejected it. And this is a country made for islam.

Salman Taseer and his family are not the best examples of muslims that they should be infact they are pretty vile. I wont go as far as placing a fatwa of kufr because i am not privy to all the facts. Further how can we say that Ghazi was not used by those who wanted Taseer out of the way? I am still of the opinion that he was bumped of because he had peed of the nawaz league hierachy! And it has been used by people to tar pakistani's further with the curse of religious extremism. And minus 5% of takfiri's i dont think Pakistani's are extremist...maybe emotional and uneducated, uncouth even but not extremists.

I saw the pir sab's programme on DM digital - however then and now i think that his work was more an outline of the case against a blasphemer as opposed to Taseer himself because even pir saab would not be privy to all the information surrounding the events.

Why you need fatwa from yamen . We dont have any mufties left who can deal this case.If anything happened in yemen do they accept pakistani mufties fatwas.

Br MR you make a fine argument and I respect that..

I would have personally preferred Mr Taseer to be tried in a court of Law but as we know the legal system was hesitant to take any action.

As for us not being "privy to all the information" then I would respond by saying Mumtaz Qadri himself was in the best position to be privy to all circumstances and took extreme action after considering all the facts.

The day when Mumtaz Qadri will be able to speak and give his version of events, we will know better insha Allah

Bro mumtaz qadri isnt privy to any information. he has himself admitted that he heard a few bayans about taseer and shot him. He had told the other alledgedly highly professional guards to stand off! It just doesnt add up to me. Professionals soldiers swear about their professionalism and for them to standby and renege on their duty is utterly shocking. Mumtaz Qadri is a patsy the real murderers are the ones behind pulling the strings.
