Aslamu Alaikum,

I wanted to know how the brothers and sisters cook their Halwa.... there's so many ways of making it and putting in certain nuts etc.... which is the best way??

Yanabi forum should have a cooking section in the forum :)

The Ummah is being humiliated left right and center and you want to know about halwa?

Are you for real?

PS your snide attacks cannot get past me. Unless of course you are a fully grown man who spends his time frequenting forums asking about halwa? If so, please accept me sincerest apologies.

PS I like badaam and meva in mine.
Feel free to PM me if you have any health issues / minor ailments such as headache, constipation, runny nose etc

Confidentiality will be maintained.

That gajar halwa sounded brilliant until you mentioned the boiled eggs, i've never heard of anyone putting them in the halwa.... I must say I do love the one you normally get in weddings.... if someone knows how to make that, please share....

PS. Brother Chemical-Ali, sometimes u need to take a day off for the nice things in life and leave the attacking for some other time when it's required. Bro, you sound like an eater rather than maker ;) I like badaam and coconut or anything crunchy nut!!

To Sunni-Police Man: Yes, bolied eggs, we grated them and just mixed in Halwa when the halwa was near to be finished. And other eggs we cut into big circular pieces to decorate the Halwa, not to put inside the halwa just on the Halwa :) Yes, thats the Gajar Halwa you will find on Wedding which we made it today B) But one thing was missing, and that was what Baji TMS said: Khoya :(

To Piari-Madani Baji: Yes, Butter and sugar was used to make it :D

Salamz,

This is how I do mine.

Semolina Halva

Ingredients:

Ghee 1 cup
Semolina (fine) 1 cup
Sugar 1 cup (add more sugar if you have a sweet tooth)
Desiccated coconut half cup (optional)
Dried Milk powder (khoya) half cup
Milk 1cup
Water 3 cups
Green Cardamoms 4,5
Green raisins half hand full
Almonds 7,8 grated
Saffron pinch full

Heat the ghee in a pan, add cardamoms and raisins, fry for a minute and remove it for later on. Add semolina and keep stirring on a slow heat until golden brown. Add water and milk, keep stirring, Add sugar, Milk powder, coconut, saffron, cardamoms and raisins. Cook until it becomes thick (not Paste). Garnish with Almonds and serve it hot.

Salams,

(Just for experiment) how about making Gajar Halwa icecream???

Mix half a cup of Gajar Halwa,
3 (plain) butterscotch cookies/biscuits
5 scoops of Cornish vanilla icre cream
and very little milk in a blender till all mixed and slightly smooth but thick – put it in freezer (make sure no iceicles) for a couple of hours before serving. (never know might taste brilliant (something like strawberry cheesecake icecream)…ALLAH Hu Alim, LolZ)

Brother cooking is a life skill, not to be underestimated, and the better a man can cook the more attractive he is to his future suitor/wife.

It's nothing to be embarrassed about but to boast about, if a man can take care of himself he can take after his future family and what woman wouldn't want that?

If you know what's good for you try learning a trick or two from these brother's recipe books, you may have more chances with the opposite gender, marriage wise, rather than your tasteless humor. (Pardon the pun) :D
