You may shake your heads in denial but the truth of the matter is that major segment of Naats today function as a substitution for Music.

Org: Mere mehboob kaiamat ho gi by Khishor Kumar
Copy: Naate sarkar ki parta hon mein by Barelvi Naatkhwans

Some years back I posted a vociferous thread about this rip but I have to admit that I have had a change of heart. The melody makes the lyrics sound better, now tell me what’s wrong with that? There should be some limits to this madness though or Dard-e-Disco will soon end up Dard-e-Madina.

I agree - that's the thing about Music. I've picked up a book recently regarding research on the topic of the relationship of Music with Human Psychology and why certain melodies allow you to remember and recall associated words easier and how it subconsciously influences your thinking.

However, I do have a problem. Not a major one as I can choose to aviod them but the thing is,

I listen to Music and I listen to Naats.

I want my Music to sound like Music, and

I want my Naats to sound like Naats.

I wouldn't have an issue if these were marketted under a new term.[/font]

Desert Sheikh:

Title of the video and fake voice over proves the motive and intentions of the producers of this video. It's just not about modern Naat but these people believe reciting "Naat" is SHIRK.

You may continue your discussion but please do not post such links again.

That's a pretty pathetic excuse to once again edit my post. The video is the centre of the discussion to this thread and new readers should have a chance to make their own assessment after watching the video.

If you think it has fake voice over then bring that to the attention of the public by responding to this thread. Simply removing my post is not going to achieve anything except give you a warm and fuzzy feeling.

Also you have alleged that these people believe reciting "Naat" is SHIRK. Do you know the poster personally? How do you know? What evidence do you have to claim so? Or are you behaving like a barelvi mullah by brandishing the beliefs of a handful of individuals onto an entire group. Don't you think that's unfair?

Moreover, does it even matter who posted the video? The issue is real.

I've edited my original post. You may contribute to this thread but please do not edit my post again.

munqabt ho to or baat hay for naat they need to avoid that adab ka taqaza hay , yeh dekhen madha Sarkar nabi paak saw ki and copy songs etc.

Before removing the video i checked his entire account which contains only hate-spewing (mostly tempered) videos with fake voice overs. There is a huge difference between discussing/opposing other sects and producing hate-spweing videos. We do not allow hate-videos.

In another video, he calls a famous Sunni scholar "Shehanshah-e-Kanjar" that is not acceptable for us at all. Any videos from this user will be removed. If you re-upload his videos with new titles, please make sure to remove fake-content as well before posting here.

Your argument is the same as the ones who wish to bring down the videos of Ghamdi sahab because he's allegedly a Pervezi. Notice the absurdity of your assertion, "in another video". Well bhai sahab, I didn't post the other video which contains the word "kanjar". If on that the basis of that you think that this should also be removed then I would ask you to remove all the video of Irfan Shah Sahab from the library since he has abused other maulvis on countless occassions.

Quit making things up man and be fair and consistent in the enforcement of policies. This video is not important to me but the principle is and for this ensuring that it is not removed is pivotal to ensuring continued freedom of speech on this space.

Please don't resort to bullying and abuse your powers, just because you happen to be in a position of authority.

Desert Sheikh responding to a post by a user on another thread who alleged that YaNabi.com spreads hate! It is sad to note that he doesn't follow the same standards that he preaches onto others.

He writes,

YaNabi.com is not responsible for the content of user’s posts or external links. Anyone (with common sense) can guess, this is a public forum, allowing everyone to raise their voice.

It seems that Desert Sheikh is conveniently not willing to apply the same common sense in this matter of me sharing an external link and allowing me the right of raising my voice!

Lastly, my message to Desert Sheikh is the same as he replied to the other user,

If you find my posts annoying then don't read them!

P.S. - Desert Sheikh - I still love you bhai. My dispute with you is not personal but professional. I hope you view it in the same light.

I checked other videos to make sure the intentions and motives of the producer of these videos. I really don't care youtube-content but i dont want our users to click on these extremist links because this may increase the number of hits on these hate-video.

I keep my emotions separate from my responsibilities. I trust my judgment on this matter because i'm not biased but if you still believe that i'm wrong, i rest my case.

Okay, based on your statement above, I feel you are sincere in your actions and you have made a good argument too.

I'm therefore resigning from my stand over this now and trust your judgement.

I still to an extent believe there is no harm is sharing such material on YaNabi.com as long as it is taken in the correct spirit.
