Muslim Unity And Self-centred Scholars
Posted 12 May 2011 - 02:09 PM (#1)
Path of unity starts from neglecting of one's self but I regret to say that we do not have a single Scholar or Shaykh who can give-up his own-interests/agendas for Muslim Unity. They all believe that their own-group/agenda is the best and ‘others’ may join if interested. We have thousands of self-centered: self-absorbed, egocentric, narcissistic scholars and they are being treated as God’s by their followers.
A famous ‘International’ Shaykh, gets out of his Pajero, walks over red carpet, enters into the luxurious living of a devotee, sits on sofa and one-of-his-own-assistant starts cleaning his shoe. . . . . . .

I was half way through, before I gave you an excellent. I remember Shaykh Hamza being chided once on this very forum, for not declaring his 'Sunniat' and carrying the banner of it! He, on the contrary is focused on 'Islam' and it's propogation and disinteresed in polemics of jamaats and other non-sensical appelations which seem to abrogate the simple purity of deen. He told me once, that you become a 'sufi' at the end of the journey, not at the beginning; so why do so many think that bayyah to a Shakyh is their key into the "Machallah, chufi chaab, teek ho? Ahan mein vee teek ah" world, where they parachute in and out of their illusions of grandeur. Act like pompous narks. This is why I don't like the 'islamic attire and image', I feel it causes to much pride and derogates from the true esscence of trying to purify the heart. You put one of those upside down school dinner-plates they call pagris or whatever on and you honestly feel invincible; as if you're worthy of standing on the shoulders of the respelendent giants of the ummah.

I think it is this reason the feet are massaged, the pajeros are travelled in, and the self is more important than Islam. I mean Bulleh Shah who says 'chal buleya chal utthe chilye, jitthe sarey annay, na koi saadi zat pehchanay na koi sanu mannay' Forgive my punjabi if its wrong, but the words of bulle shah put these people to shame.

Hazrat Bulleh Shah lived for the pleasure of Allah(SWT), he spread Islam by showing the love of Allah(SWT) and his Rasool(SAW). The Pir that travel in the Pajeros, who have thier feet massaged because they walked from the Pajero to the luxury arm chair with about 10 pillows. Many of whom live of the name of thier Khanqah. The Bulleh Shahs, Khwaja Gharib Nawazs,Bu Ali Shah Qalenders etc. Who spread Islam via thier personalities, via theyre total submission to live for the Creator, thank the Creator for every breathe they breathed. Most scholars today cant even satisfy thier followers fully anymore. Imagine the personna the likes of Khawaja Gharib Nawaz had to attract and put Imaan in millions of non muslims, bringing them to Islam.
Pir Mehr Ali Shah(ra) used to cook Halwa in the yard of Masjid-e-Nabi whenever he was in Madinah Sharif and distribute it personally to the poor orphans and children in the alleys of Madinah. Nowadays if Pir X isnt in the executive suite of Hilton Hotel or the Sheraton in Medina how will he sleep at night?
This reminds me of Hazrat Yaqoobi (ra) of Baghar Sharif. Through out his life he only went in to the town for eye treatment or to visit his son whilst he was studying. He used to go around surrounding villages on a horse. This is in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Nowadays alot of the Pajero crew couldnt walk from thier luxury houses to the Masjids without being schuaffered.
I could spend the whole day typing about great Awliya etc. of the past like Im pretty sure most of you could. Wealthy donations, huge followings and a well known Hanqah might be the reason for the luxury self centered scholar of today.

Just wanted to share a quote I came upon of how man would share knowledge for everyone's benefit. Shared knowledge and wisdom is beneficial for everyone. The time has dawned when knowledge has been drawn out into a competition, and amal (practice) is far from evident. It's teams, corners and who has the biggest fan base.
I ask, who is out there working for the Ummah as a whole?
I ask, who is out there working for humanity as a whole?

This reminds me something i read about Quid-e-Azam not so long ago. Once somebody asked Quid-e-Azam what sect of Islam did he belong to, Quid-e-Azam replied 'what sect did the Prophet(SAW) belong to?'
RasoolAllah(SAW) showed us Shaan-e-Siddique Akbar, Shaan-e-Farooq, Shaan-e-Ghani, Shaan-e-Ali. Showed us the maqaam of all 4 mentioned individuals. Showed us the status of his blessed Sahaba. Showed us the love a believer must have for his blessed House. Married particular women, not any women but women that are the best role models any muslimah could have. Not just muslimah but women through out the world. Whose personalities alone were blessings. Theres not enough words to praise the beauties of RasoolAllah(SAW), his blessed House, his Blessed Sahaba. Allah(SWT) shows us in the Quran the many ways of reaching Allah. The Sunnah shows us ways of reaching Allah. Both the Quran and Sunnah warn man of falling astray. Guide man on living the ideal life. The Quran and the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) told us of the coming of people after him, the Awliya and their purpose.
Until we can't as an Ummah defeat what divides us even after RasoolAllah(SAW) who was Allah's messenger on earth sent in the form of Bashar to teach mankind even on how to eat with etiquitte, warn mankind on whats to come, show mankind the Beauties of Allah(SWT), there will never be an entire Ummah. Itl just be sects that are broken down into further groups. If we can't cut the weeds in our own backgardens who are we to cut weeds in other peoples gardens? If we cant strengthen our bonds with our fellow brothers and sisters, SPEAK UP for thier struggles, how can we begin serving humanity?

I suggest you sis can carry on asking! You will have a written fatwa of wobbism in your letterbox soon. Only those call for unity that prefer empty stomachs and empty pockets over sowing discord amongst their fellow creation to earn fame and luxury.
First step on the road to unity is to refer yourself muslim and only muslim. If that message spread just for a few days jobs a good un. You would have made a few cockroaches unemployed but you would have bought joy and prosperity to the ummah of rasool s.a.w

It's because of people like you that there is no unity. You are full of hatred for someone who is and has always working for unity. You dont know what unity is. You see unity between brailvees as unity.
so open your eyes, clean your OWN heart instead of lecturing scholars and then tell us what you see.
If you want to unite under an 'International' scholar who rides on a bike and walks bear footed ... then let me know when you find him and if you do you will be the only one following him.
You talk of unity but your post is evident that you dont want unity as you are attacking everyone, and indirectly attacking one scholar. we all know you!
For your information people have chosen their leader to unite behind. Where ever he does a lecture the mosques are jam packed- only evidence you need to see if people follow some one. Only he has a mawlid conference of a million people. I dont need to mention his name everyone knows who he is.
Control your jealousy otherwise you gona end up like in the link below.

A little bit of elaboration is required - this is was probably the best most heartfelt post of br DS that I have seen so i cant understand why you have spewed so much venom.
Being on the right side of history means La ilaha illal la - dont make parties, pirs and parasites your illah.
People will never unite behind scholars - that is not what scholars are for. The true scholars are those who guide and account leaders and the ummah. We dont have them hence the situation we are in. If you dont feel or see the situation then...?

You cannot blame on segment more than the other. One segment being the scholars or acting scholars, and the other being the mass of the Ummah. There is guilt on both and innocence on both. We need not to unite behind scholars, but need to unite behind the Qur'an and Sunnah, and demand that scholars themselves are united behind them and are prioristing them. Scholars can be wrong, but Qur'an and Sunnah cannot. While scholars are great people, but they are people. People on both sides of the spectrum; namely the Takfiri Wahhabi's and the Takfiri Sufi's are both locked in qoutations of their own scholars, which seem to be the standard of their judgments and ideology rather than the vast beauty of the Qur'an and Sunnah. Both insist that the texts of the Qur'an and Sunnah, can only be understood through their own scholar's lenses, and any understanding of the texts that differs from that, is deviancy, according to them. This is conditioning the validity and understanding of the Book and Sunnah, to a group of fallbible people, who are near-infallible in the eyes of their followers. (not far fetched from the 12'er Shia's narrow-minded and extreme approach to their Imams).
The hateful Takfiri ideaologies, whether on the Wahhabi side, or the Sufi-claimer side, both suffer from an abosolute self-righteousness and figure-centered appraoches, aided with the weapon of intellectual terrorism and slander. The irony is that such ugly face is made all but "Sunni" and under the very banner of following or loving the Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa aalihi wa sallam, respectively (Takfiri Salafi's/ Takfiri Sufi's). As one group claim to follow and the other claims to love.
Such radical groups always seek to rally people around scholars, rather than book of Allah Ta'ala and the authentic and clear commands of Rasoolul'Allah, sallallahu alayhi wa aalihi wa sallam.
May Allah Ta'ala guide us all.

Out of 57 Islamic countries, Hazrat Nobody is working for this Ummah.
They all work for their-organizations. Hundreds of Shyakhs, Pirs, Scholars and Organizations tirelessly working for the promotion of their group but shamelessly claim that "only" they represent the True Islam. What's the outcome of their efforts? Zeroooo
I don't deny the efficiency of some (don't know why their followers feeling so insecure) among their followers and/or in a typical circle but what does it worth without effectiveness as whole? I couldn't find a single Pir or a group that works for Islam. Do Bayt with Hazrat-X, join group-Y, become member of organization-Z and you should look like this, wear that, beard size and even shoe color's been defined.
Muslim Ummah where each Muslim to another Muslim was like bricks in a wall, the one supporting the other but what are we now? All alone, miserable and even not worthy of being considered humans.
My heart bleeds....They have divided us.

People have chosen their leader? What leader? Allah Almighty has already chosen a Leader for us and sent him with Guidance and the Religion of Truth. The True Leader always emphasised the importance of Education "gain knowledge even if you have to go till China", because He knew false-leaders will divide and destroy this Ummah and seeking knowledge is very important to save oneself from following these false leaders.

I can't follow any grandfather-clock in the ummah these days, simply because they dissuade you from diversifying your portfolio and seeking knowledge and wisdom from anyone else; as everyone else is 'going to hell'!

why do you see "jam packing" as proof for someone? no doubt that the professor is a learned man I just wish some of that wisdom rubbed of on those who proclaim to follow him. Because like those who proclaim to be brelvi's they are only doing a disservice to their leaders.

leaders ki mohabt main log gunhagar bhi bun jaty hain .And his text showing what sort of muslim is he and I think people who disrespect nabi paak , tahir bhai ban them forever.
sunisunai you want to know who we follow we follow Nabi paak saw and now you can locate the big hotels where he was staying and the big car he was usuing and the red carpets etc , why you gone mad if DS brother wrote that scholers are using these big cars and red carpets etc and you want to know who is our leader sheikh murshid our leader is Nabi paak .
question to you if a person is claiming that he is following sunnat e nabvi why cant he live a simple life and drove normal cars and walk on ordinary ground and if he cant why he is claiming , he could say I am not following the sunnah and I am following the kings and wants to live as kings , answer that .
and what help these big cars giving him gain unity in ummah can you answer that and why you getting mad on brother DS because he is talking sense .
He is not attacking direct on nay scholer but as choor ki darhi main tinka , you knew from your heart that where is a mistake and who is doing this all so gone mad and start attcking on DS , beter read your texts again and see in mohabat of your leaders you disrespecting in your texts specially the text you post at 12.40 you wrote.
(Allah SWT sent a Prophet SAW. Does not mean other people cannot be leaders)
yes that means the other people can not be leaders they only can ghulaman e nabi and they cant live as kings , why cant they wear simple dress and live simple life and use ordinary cars and how they showing there love to nabi paak in gatherings etc .
And see in dictionary jis kay qool fial main tazaad hay us ko kiye kahty hain , so if they saying they working for unity then they have to prove right and if they want the tiaras on there head as sheikhs sheikhul islams and sheikhualims etc then sheikh to bun na pary ga na Nabi paak ki sunnat per amal and to do that and prove that they have to leave this all cars and carpets , luxury long dresses etc .
