An Atheists worst nightmare…THE PAPER CLIP

Here is a small conversation between an Atheist and a Theist

Theist: You see this paperclip?

Atheist: Yeh,

Theist: Guess what, it appeared itself!

Atheist: Naa, your jokin’! It can’t do that?! A paperclip can’t just create itself.

Theist: Why can’t it? It’s only a small, simple 2cm strand of metal bent into a U. Why not?

Atheist: It’s just too complex.

Theist: So if you can’t believe that a humble paper clip cannot form itself, then how could you say the whole Universe created itself?

Atheist: Err, um… oh?!

Atheist: Err, um… oh?!

Theist: Yea i thought so!

Athiest: No NO, I mean, If it's impossible for a paperclip to spontaneously jump into existence, then how did God 'just' be there?

Theist: Well something must of been there, it's why we exist today? It was god.

Athiest: Your giving me examples of complexity, and yet when i ask you about God, and how he 'just' existed, you just skipping my question!!

Theist: Your going to HEELLL!

I'd say, just leave them to it, what's the point convincing the convinced? Altho i did get one to admit, there's something out there.

The only thinf atheists believe is 'out there' is an alien, they’re happy to believe that even though it's preposterous.

The paper clip think, nah even atheists are as dumb as we make them to believe.

The thing is no atheist can prove God doesnt exist. What atheism can do is tell you scientific theories and facts about processes of life. The problem with muslims are that we are not confident enough in our deen. We talk about aqeedah and whose is perfect and whose isnt yet no one ever talks about the most basic of aqaids - the existence of Allah, about qada al qadr. These two things are the biggest Akthar bouncers the atheist will ever face. Yet we end up serving collingwood dollies and then cry when we cannot win a debate.

I would like to see the sunni comando's, the aqaid fantasists and the foot soldiers of brelvism to discuss with the same fervour qada al qadr. I would like them also to prove to me that allah exists 100% and the quran is from allah 100% without any doubt in their argument. Alas i am not hopeful 150 years of takfirism and mullahism has wiped out muslim intellectualism.

I think this is a waste of post. Discussing topics like this is a waste of valuable time. There is no need for scholars to discuss matters like the proof of God when its clearly obvious for any man of intellect that God exists!

If you want an athiest to even consider what you say, then simple, don't debate him, but have a discussion instead.  Ask him his side of the story, what led him to his belief. Next you talk about your beliefs and why.

Next step, ask him how certain is he really is on his belief. Ask him to put a number on it. If hes says 7/10, then ask him what belief he holds with the remaining 3. Aaaand carry on from there.

This way you can get him to admit 'something is out there', and possibly even get him to rethink about his belief.

Debate is just fighting for you belief, whatever you say will go through one ear and out the other.

Dear brother its not as simple as this. Just like you wont change your mind he wont change his. When your having a discussion on a topic like this it always turns into a debate whether you want it to or not. Trust me its a waste of time alright!!

Talking about time, most people only start this subject if they have nothing better to do anyway. So that cancels out 'time wasting'. When it comes to changing minds, it don't happen with afew clicking of fingers.

This is where we go wrong, we think we have to change minds, whereas thats not the case! All we do is make that question mark
which already exists in his head bigger. Here he will start questioning himself, and as curiosity grows, so will his willingness to search for more.

It's what i am talking about. You get him to think on the remaining 3, and leave him to it.

I think this post is very interesting because it highlights the flaw in simple Muslim thinking that atheists are plain mad or stupid
I have met and debated many an atheist and as others have said, it is not as straight forward as you may think
1 - To prove nothing is easier than to prove something
2 - To stand in favour of zero is easier than to stand for a complex religion
3 - To have no honour or value of religious sentiment is much easier than to have respect and love, honour and value of God, His Prophets, His Orders, Angels etc etc
For these few (among many) reasons it is difficult to discuss things with atheists because they refuse to stand on a level foundation of values and I have had times when my God, my Prophet (SAW) have been openly insulted simply because the atheist thinks it's OK to do so.
I have won in these types of discussions and debates too but have had my fingers burnt in the process - so it is not something for the feint hearted
I still refrain from openly going at them and only entertain such discussions when I am directly asked by someone I already know. Don't make the mistake of debating a bigot for he/she will only use the oldest trick in the book - to sling mud at everything you hold dear
On a side note - most people I encounter in England are now turning to atheist ideology and IMO this is because I think they find it as an 'easy way out' or 'easy answer' - So unless you are prepared to take on a mass of people - leave it well alone - and leave it to the intellectuals who study this area as their life ambition
To the common believer in God - my advice would be to go away and study your belief in depth before discussing these types of topics - because the last thing you want is your belief in God being taken away from you
Wa-la Ghalib Il-Allah "There is no Conqueror but Allah".

@wayfari

you are lucky that you havent had any kind of interaction with these athiests. If you had then you would have realised the importance and significance of this knowledge. for this purpose and other matter of fiqh etc muntiq (logic) is a subject taught during aalim course; as some islamic laws are formulated based on arguments.

hence; scholars through out the history have adopted different logics for da'wa.

Just to light up the day;

A young woman teacher with obvious liberal tendencies explains to her class of small children that she is an atheist. She asks her class if they're atheists too. Not really knowing what atheism is but wanting to be like their teacher, their hands explode into the air like fleshy fireworks. There is, however, one exception. A beautiful girl named Zainab has not gone along with the crowd. The teacher asks her why she has decided to be different. "Because I'm not an atheist."

Then, asks the teacher, "What are you?" "I'm a Muslim." The teacher is a little perturbed now, her face slightly red. She asks Zainab why she is a Muslim. "Well, I was brought up knowing and loving God. My mom is a Muslim, and my dad is a Muslim, so I am a Muslim."
The teacher is now angry. "That's no reason," she says loudly, "what if your mom was a moron, and your dad was a moron, - what would you be then?" She paused, and smiled. "Then," says Zainab, "I'd be an atheist."
Never be fanatical about anything, whether it is the truth or not, and your heart will remain in a state of soundness towards others. (Shaykh Ahmed Zarruq)
