Walaikum salaam wa rahmathulah
There are a few things going on for sisters as well. Dawateislami sisters do talks (could find out the details if you want inshaAllah). Also, recently there's a new place open for sisters called Dar al Amina. It is run by sisters for sisters. Courses include Fiqh, Tajweed (which is currently full), Seerah classes and only for this beautiful month...(have a look at the poster below inshaAllah)
http://www.al-fountain.co.uk/fountaineducation/aminah/images/revival.jpg
Email them for details inshaAllah
Erm there are a lot of Wahaabi's, but there are definately more who hold the beliefs of Ahle Sunnah wal Jama'a (alhamdulillah)
Hope this is of some help inshaAllah (Let me know if you need more details inshaAllah)

JazakAllah  khair for that sis very helpful :).  A few questions: with regards to the fiqh side of things do you know whether this is teaching of a particular madhab or is it fiqh in general? Also, do you know of any upcoming long term courses starting say in the next few months? Lastly, are there any schools that you know of who teach sisters? Wasalaam.

They teach Hanafi Fiqh (I think...I'm going to have to confirm inshaAllah)
With regards to long term courses, which one are you thinking of attending? (email them and ask inshaAllah...will be seeing one of the sisters who's in charge inshaAllah on Monday (maybe before then inshaAllah) I'll ask her if you want (remind me if I don't please)
What do you mean by schools? For older sisters? or young children? Erm I'm sure I've heard of classes being held...
Have a look at this website...they are based in Luton alhamdulillah
http://www.fountaininstitute.co.uk/
There is an event coming up inshaAllah (Please make du'a I get to attend inshaAllah) It will be in the University of Bedfordshire the main Luton campus...

Hope this is of some help inshaAllah

Unforunately their are a lot of Wahabis's in Luton. And the number fo their mosques are growing. Here are some of them:

Madina Masjid, Islamic Centre, Masjid Al Ghurabaa, Olive Tree School, Masjid-e-Noor, Bury Park Jamie Masjid, Biscot Road Mosque and I think one on Holland Road.

But Alhumdulillah, Lutons biggest and Central mosque Jamia Islami Ghousia Luton Central Mosque is 100% Sunni. Luton does have a lot of Sunni followers. Every year the Central Mosque hols massive mehfils, julooses, ijtimas, programmes which thousands of people attend. Here are some of the Sunni mosques:

Luton Central Mosque

2 Westbourne Road

Jamia Al Akabria

237 Selbourne Road

Jalalabad Jame Masjid OK

36 Leagrave Road

Jamia Islamia Ghousia Trust

23 Westbourne Road

Just to add to the list of Sunni Masjids theres one at the end of St Ethelbert Avenue (tis linked to Luton Central Masjid) There was a mehfil for men there today (inshaAllah we'll be holding one for the kids that come to Masjid and their mothers soon as well *Make du'a it goes well, it's our second year doing it alhamdulillah*)

I dont hink they have specifically built areas for women but I know that when a programme or event takes place, part of the mosque is sealed of for women.

In the CEntral Mosque, women use the upstirs hall and enter through the back staircase.

Also, mosque classes for women are in a seperate house, still connected to the mosque.

That part is usually empty anyway, why can't sisters go read there if they need to?
The Masjid's that do have areas for sisters are not 'Sunni'. I don't know of any 'Sunni' Masjid that allows sisters to pray there too :ermm:
Dar al Amina is on the same road as Central Masjid..(tis also a house but specifically for sisters...I'm assuming they'd allow you to pray there *don't know if it's open, or open at class times?* ) < I'll try finding out for you inshaAllah (remind me if I don't please)

Asalaamu Alaykum, i would recommend all brothers and sisters to stay away from organisations such as fountain education, Dar al Amina etc as these people are promoting there own Sulla Kuliyat ways, where they confuse the masses with there banner of "Unity". Protect yourself from this misguidence.

Masha Allah the Dawat e Islami sisters are doing a brilliant job, May Allah azzawajal Increase in there works. Insha Allah there will be more work done to promote the sunni aqeeda in the near future, which will help extinguish the fire of jahiliat and bad aqeeda.

Walaikum salaam wa rahmathulah

Here we go again..I swear there was a big hoohaa on Yanabi regarding this 'unity group' a year or two ago. :ermm:
Anyway, if I knew where the dawateislami sisters held their talks, I'd go to them myself inshaAllah. Wish they'd come and speak at the Masjid I teach in. They came from Birmingham once when the blessed hair of RasoolAllah salAllahu alayhi wa salam came. If you know the details then post em here inshaAllah.

I dont think that sisters atend the mosque for Jamaat. But I know that the 2 houses nextdoor (owned by the mosque) are used  for women.

o

salam alaykoum

That is not true
I lived a few months in luton and some masjids that u mentionned are sunni and not part of any deviated sect like the masjid al ghurabaa which is the islamic centre actually or even olive tree school

apparently its best to double check the informations that we get on internet
Allah swt knows best
