Asalaamu alaykum

I hope you are all in the best of health and imaan insha'Allah!

I wanted to ask for your du'as! I need a job as a teaching assistant in order to do a part time Applied Education Studies degree (it starts in May but I need to be working either paid or voluntary by January)

Been looking for a job for a while now, and alhamdulillah got to the interview stage at a couple...only reason I was not accepted was because of lack of experience in a school enviroment.

Even finding voluntary work is difficult! I mean it is not like I don't have experience with children, (been working with them for over two years in the Masjid teaching Qur'an and general Islam) < but do not have much experience in a school enviroment

Emailed the person in charge of the degree and she said that she can give me a conditional offer (so I can do the degree if I find work by January) < I don't really want to delay doing the degree any longer.

So please could you remember this sister in your du'as!

Asslamalikum Sister,

With the new government introducing cuts in all directions, its difficult finding a job. Have you tried dinner time supervisor in schools? This will give an insight into the school environment and look good on your CV. How about volunteering at childrens’ centres/Surestart? They have sessions for children under 5.

walaikum salaam wa rahmathulah

Tell me about it sister! Tis missions even finding voluntary work! The thing is I need to be actually working there (classroom based) to do the degree that I want...and unless I find something quickly I won't be able to start the degree this year.

I have called up schools, even written letters to them, but not really had much luck! I have contacted people but the only advice they are giving is to keep trying at local schools and seeing if they will take me on for voluntary work

Keep us in your du'as insha'Allah.
