salam

what is the ruling/preferably islamic ruling (obviously) regarding accepting food/gifts from people who are not ahle sunnah, i.e. shias, salafis etc. a common example is a sunni student breaking his fast (iftari) at a university.

Salaam

Unless the food is poisoned, then no don't accept it. but other then that i can't see why not! Just think of it this way - all the food we 'buy' doesn't come from Ahla Sunnah. Especially McDonalds!

salam

i know people who following dawateislami and hold that view. i just needed to know bit of background freom it. i understand the argument as to that we buy food from asda, tesco, even local newsagents, but when it comes to shias or salafis theres an issue?  what about breaking fast in haramain shareef?

but then dey argue that its for a necessity then do it, but if its a social visit with a salafi or shia or wabi then no u cant do it.

Is it really necessary to refer to the view points or teachings or information by Imam Ahmad Raza Khan (Ala Hazrat) in regards to whether a sunni can or should or should not eat food/drink from non-Sunni people's houses/places or even offered by them?  Or can a sunni choose not to worry or care about what Ala Hazrat's thoughts/beliefs are on this issue and simply make his own mind up or decision and do what he thinks is the best?

At one time the muslims were allowed to eat the food of the people of the book...now we have molvis telling you not to eat from a muslims house because he has a different viewpoint on some things..

We're quickly getting to that stage where people will start asking the local butcher if he's a wahabi, etc....:Wow:

salam people there is a difference between a gift and buying something or getting food served at haram sharif. a gift is especially for you whereas food in haram sharif is for no one in particular but anyone who is there.
