Gold tooth for men?

Asalamu alikum!

I had an appointment with my dentist and he said that my back 3 teeth will rot away in a few years and i need my teeth crowned with gold. He said that silver costs much more than gold, which is weird because i thought gold would be more expensive.

But would it be haram for me to get gold teeth if i can not afford silver teeth?

aah i see what you mean..

it is in my opinion, all with the intention... will it be pure gold? not that it matters..

It will be pure gold (9ct) because if it is fake then the gold will rub off.

Pure gold is 24 carat, 9 carat is a very weak/little content of gold mixed with other metal of higher concentrate.

and I said all to do with the intention here.. and necessity,, if you can live with a hole then dont have that gold tooth; i have a hole where they took out the tooth.. but if there is a medical reason to have a hole filled and you genuinely cannot afford silver (which I think is also forbidden ie there is a limit of how much silver men can wear) then get the gold one..

There must be otherways to store your teeth etc without putting gold or silver in , thye can make bridges etc as well and root extensions , go and see andother dentist , looks this dentist is afetr making money etc.

Im sure some of the Sahaba had gold or silver teeth? I cant quite remember whether it was gold or silver though. :unsure:

Salams,

Ive got a Silvertooth put on my front tooth. I had it done in Madinah (Me and My Brother) and i will take it with me down under!!! (Insha'ALLAH)

The dentist did say to us (when we asked him about gold tooth) he answered that during the Prophets S.A.W time they (the Men) did wear gold teeth.

(in Britain) You cannot get a 9ct gold tooth/crown it has to be 18ct (minimum)
