Bilal Philips, "If the Prophet (SAW) is Alive, Did the Sahabas make a mistake burying Him?"
How would you answer this man and his followers?

New Bilal Philips stunt, "If the Prophet (Alayhis Salaam) is alive, did the sahaba (Radi Allahu Anhum) make a mistake by burying him?"

"Think not of those, who are slain in the way of Allah, as dead. Nay, they are living. With their Lord they have provision." (3:169)
This Ayah of the Holy Quran categorically states that the martyrs are NOT dead, and we're told not to even 'think' of them as being dead, so those people may reject that the prophets are not alive in their graves (because of their ignorance), but they cannot deny that the martyrs are alive.
So then, in context with this Ayah, ask them why did Rasulallah(saw) buried the martyrs, while the Quran tells us they're not dead, so did the Prophet(pbuh) made a mistake??? (Nauzbillah)
And secondly, our belief is not that Rasulallah(saw) never died, but that he is alive in his grave, as other prophets, awliya and martyrs are.
Shiekh Alawi says that the passing away of the Prophets only means that they have been taken away from us and we cannot see them, just as we cant see the angels. (Mafahim page 165 Sheikh Alawi Malki)
Thats all I could think of, I'm sure other members will respond to this in a much better way

i would like to ask what makes bilal phillips an authority on islam?
in the absence of a political islamic authority a vaccum is left which is filled by any tom dick and harry. - its just like ice cream we all have our favourites and there are flavours made to suit us. same way there are different people that appeal to different audiences each audience pronouncing theirs is the absolute authority on islam. Wahabbism rejects taqlid which is good for them so non of their beliefs have to be in accordance with the great scholars of the past, hence the rubbish that is often spouted. if he died why does he s.a.w answer our durood? if allah has said the martyrs are alive and being nourished then the master of these martyr's how can he be dead?

If he wants to believe that Mohammed SAWW is dead then let him. It is his belief but how can Allah send blessings on a dead person? Surely blessings can only be had by someone living?
“Allah sends His Salaah (Graces, Blessings, Mercy) on the Prophet (Muhammad), and also His angels ..' (Holy Quran)
“Allah sends His Salaah (Graces, Blessings, Mercy) on the Prophet (Muhammad), and also His angels ..' (Holy Quran)
Allah does not send blessings on Mohammed just for his time on earth surely, and we certainly send our blessings on him now.

Sahih Muslim :Book 20, Number 4651:
It has been narrated on the authority of Masruq Who said: We asked 'Abdullah about the Qur'anic verse:
"Think not of those who are slain in Allah's way as dead. Nay, they are alive, finding their sustenance in the presence of their Lord. ." (iii. 169).
He said: We asked the meaning of the verse (from the Holy Prophet) who said: The souls, of the martyrs live in the bodies of green birds who have their nests in chandeliers hung from the throne of the Almighty. They eat the fruits of Paradise from wherever they like and then nestle in these chandeliers. Once their Lord cast a glance at them and said: Do ye want anything? They said: What more shall we desire? We eat the fruit of Paradise from wherever we like. Their Lord asked them the same question thrice. When they saw that they will continue to be asked and not left (without answering the question). they said: O Lord, we wish that Thou mayest return our souls to our bodies so that we may be slain in Thy way once again. When He (Allah) saw that they had no need, they were left (to their joy in heaven).

My answer is as simple as that :
1) And what about Shaheed/Martyrs in Islam ? Aren't they alive even if they are buried ?
2) Has our Prophet (salala ho aleihe wa salam) a lower status than a Martyr ? (naouzobilla)

Allah said in Surah Hujrat
Remember verse number 6 is starting of with يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُو means اے ایمان والو (O Believers)so this verse is addressing Ahl-e-Eman, and next verse that is versenumber 7 is joined with verses number 6, as verse 7 starts of joining word وَ "And" "اور".
This proves that only Ahl-e-Eman true believers will believe that Prophet sallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam is present amongst them. Those who donot believe are not in category of Ahl-e-Eman.

To OP
Ask them for the translation of the first Kalima,Kalima e Taiyab. "There is none worthy of worship except Allah,Muhammad(Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam) IS the messenger of Allah"
We dont use "IS" for a dead person.eg My last login was couple of days ago and I am not dead yet but you would still say that Luhif was online 2 days ago although I am in this world and not dead.

There are idiots like Bilal Philips who are not worth wasting our time on. He should be renamed Donkey Philips.
The munafaqeen could not be convinced - truth was in their face in the company of the best of all creation Muhammed SAW and yet they did not see the truth. As Allah SWT says that he seals the hearts of some people so they will never be guided to the rightful way. Our bodies are not keeping us alive - it is the "ruh" inside that keeps us alive. Our bodies are merely a physical cage. Prophet Muhammad SAW have left earth in a "physical sense" so we can't see them but they are alive and "hazaar o nazir". They see/hear everything. Allah says in the quran "we have sent you as a witness .........." which means that on the day of judgement they will be witness against each and everyone of us from Adam peace be on him to the last person on day of judgement. In the quran Allah says that Nuh peace be on him and all other prophets's ummah will say to Allah that their prophets did not convey his message to them, to which the prophets will say to Allah "ask Prophet Muhammad SAW that we did indeed convey your message?" and the prophet SAW will say that they did indeed pass Allah's message to their people. This proves that he SAW his alive. Anyone who refutes this (i,e wahabbis/salafi's) are those of the 71 groups that will not enter paradise as prophesised by Muhammed SAW. The Wahabbis of Saudi arabia are filth and a danger to the unwary muslim who does not understand his/her deen. They have destroyed countless holy relics including graves of sahabba's and spend their money on building palaces, wine, women yet they give the impression of being good muslims. Prophet Muhammad SAW warned us 1400 centures ago about this deviant group that would arise from Najad with shaved heads etc. Hope Allah SWT destroys them like he did with Aad and Thamud insha allah al aziz.
