Salams,

This is the newer version to quite an old Qawwali. I prefer this one to the old one.
Humein tho mast kiya Kali Kamli Walein Nei.....
.....DeneWalei Ne Diya, Liya Lenei Walei Ne (Amazing Lyrics):)

Share your favourite Qawallis?

Do they have to be just religious?

Cos you guys have pretty much covered my favourite ones

Salams,

@TMS (do they have to be just Religious?) No not really you can mix Philosophical Qawallies (I think)

I love this one (may have to listen to it a few times for the lyrics and the music to sink in) one of the best ive heard.
May ALLAH SWT Bless Sir Aziz Mian in his Grave and the Life Hereafter, Insha'ALLAH. Ameen!

Salams,

Love this Naat/Nasheed which is recited by a Non-Muslim (The Late) Jagjit Singh and his wife Chitra Singh. Its quite an emotional naat considering Jagjit Singh Saab has passed away from this world especially when he recites the lyrics "andheri qabr mein mujh ko akela chod jaayenge, vahaan ho fazl se tere ujaala Ya RasoolALLAH, zara chehare se kamali hata do Ya RasoolALLAH
. (We as muslims should contemplate on these 3 lines and look around us................?) ...... Which favours of our lord, do we then deny? vahaan ho fazl se tere ujaala Ya RasoolALLAH - Just think about it!

My all time favourite...... Legendary Pathanay Khan at his best, enjoy the Saraiki Music Love and Peace.
Great sofian kalam of Khwaja Ghulam Farid ra Meda Ishq Vi Tu

Khwaja Ghulam Farid passed away on 24th July 1901. His tomb is in Mithan Kot. His Saraiki Divan consists of poems called kafis, which are full of sufi themes. His works include: Divan-e Farid Saraiki (published 1882), Divan-e Farid Urdu (published 1884), Manaqib-e Mahbubia (Farsi prose), and Fawaid-e Faridia (Farsi prose).

In this Kafi, the refrain (radeef) is "vi toon", meaning "are also You". In the first 42 of the 46 lines sung here, the beloved is called 112 different things, including love, friend, religion, faith, body, spirit, heart, soul, sorrow, happiness, reason for joy, cause of pain, shame, grandeur, beauty, criterion, understanding, the part in the hair, henna, kohl (mascara), lipstick, Rohi, Cholistan, etc. Then in the last 4 lines, the poet makes a turn and addressing himself says: if the Friend accepts, Farid, you are the boss, the king. If not, you are the useless, the low, the worthless, the humble, the nothing, the impossible.

Pathaney Khan mostly sang sufi poetry, including poems (kafis) of Khuwaja Ghulam Farid on radio and television in Pakistan for over 25 years. He also sang Urdu ghazals. He was (and still is) very popular, especially in the Saraiki areas which form the Southern third of Western (Pakistani) Punjab. He was awarded the Pride of Performance Award in 1979. He was a simple man who never cared about money throughout his life. He was very ill in his final years and his financial position was not good. He passed away on 9 March 2000. He put his soul into his singing, which makes a lot of people happy.

Repentance is a strange mount -
it jumps towards heaven in a single moment from the lowest place

Not many living qawwals are upto the standard of old but this qawwali by the son of Aziz Mian is right up there and an instant classic. It was released in 2001 but I have not long discovered it

I was thinking to keep it top secret but thought I should let you qawwali lovers get a taste of the ecstasy ;)

It's about our Great Imam of Punjab, Data Ganj Bakhsh, Sayyid Ali Hujweri and the faiz he gained from the blessed House of the Holy Prophet (SAWW) - The Panjtan Paak - and then spread his faiz to all the awliyyah Allah after him.

He was a big singer and knew that a naat cant be recited with thissort of music if he recite without music then we can say yessss, but again our all professional naat khawans qwaals made this all a fun naat and qwali they didnt think for a minute for who they reciting for . Allah give them all tofeeq to recite with adab , if we recite with adub and without music the non muslims will but if we start with all sort of music who we can object.
