Salafis are Wahabis, the Salafis (who originated in recent years from Saudi) are called Ahl-e-Hadis in Pakistan.

The other type of Wahabis are Deobandis, these are found in the Indian Subcontinent, they are slightly different to the wahabis mentioned above in that they practice taqleed (following an Imam of a Fiqh Madhab) whereas Salafis/Ahl-e-Hadis do not.

That's just because you asked for an urgent reply, there is lots on this forum if you do a search. I am sure someone will be giving you more details on this thread in a moment.

wassalam.

I live among salafis and I think they are different than wahabis.
Salafis don't stick to one mazhab, but wahabis follow Hanbali mazhab.

Another difference, Salafis never proclaim themselves as wahabi, but wahabis always proclaim themselves as salafi.

I understand if you don't like salafi, because I see they always try to ban sufi's traditions.
But I think I must clarify, people who destroyed RasulAllah house, attack and kill other Muslims are wahabis, not true salafis.

I close to salafis and I also close to sufis, but I cannot accept wahabism. Wahabis are really extremists.
