According to Hanafiya, crab is not a fish hence impermissible.
According to the Hanafi Madhhab, only fish is permissible to consume from sea food animals. There is a difference of opinion amongst the Hanafi Jurists whether shrimps/prawns falls under fish. Those who say it is a fish state it will be permissible to consume. Those who are of the view that prawns/shrimps are not fish say it is impermissible to consume. It is better to adopt precaution and avoid eating it. Consider the following Hadith:
Leave that which is doubtful for which is not doubtful. (Al-Tirmidhi & Al-Nasa'i)
Crabs are not lawful to consume.

This is what I know:
Fish can be eaten as a sea food but the question arises whether shrimps/prawns/crabs fall under this fish category or not.It has been also said that fish which has no blood in their body, those can't be eaten. But shrimp/crab has blood but it's colorless(because of having less hemoglobin) so if this is taken as a fact, shrimps/crabs are impermissible to consume because their blood is not red.But if you still have doubt and according to the Hadith, it's better not to eat them at all.
