Assalamu Aleykum Brothers & Sisters,

Just wanted to ask that: are muslims allowed to keep dogs as pets in houses?
If they are, then can you tell me if your clothes still be paak or not?

while we on the subject, i know someone who has a guide dog at home but thats only because unfortunately he is blind. him and his parents wernt to keen on getting the dog at first because they wernt sure if it was allowed or not. can anyone tell me if keeping a dog is permissible under these conditions?
