Aasalam O Alaikum
I am looking to buy myself a pack of Omega-3 tablets,but i think that all omega-3 tablets contains Gelatine. i was cheking some of the packs on internet and of them says Note for vegetarians - capsule contains gelatine. so is it allowed can i have them or what shall i do any advice from senior members who know something about it.
Ingredients: Fish Oil,Capsule Shell(Gelatine,Glycerine)Vitamin E(as D-Alpha Tocopherol

As-salamu 'alaykum. You are answering your own question: these capsules contain gelatine and cannot be used by Muslims. There are vegetarian alternatives, though, like this: http://www.mypharmac...s_veg_omeg3.htm

yes you are right but i have heard that certain types of gelatines are halal for example fish(or somthing like that)now if its says on the label that it contains gelatine how can we say that its from pork or whatever if you can tell me please!

You have to assume that is it animal-based (the norm) unless it says otherwise. Just as you would assume that wine is alcoholic unless it says otherwise.

ok,thanks for the advice and your answers.i will do a bit more research if i cant find anything then buy the vegetarian based omega3
