I decided to post some the teachings of Guru Nanak that are found in the Shri Guru Granth Sahib. Now do u guys see any difference between what he is saying and what Islam tells us ?


Messenger of Death
ijau Agin mrY jil pwieAY iqau iqRsnw dwsin dwis ] (22-6, isrIrwgu, mÚ 1)
ji-o agan marai jal paa-i-ai ti-o tarisnaa daasan daas.
Just as fire is extinguished by pouring on water, desire becomes the slave of the Lord's slaves.

jm jMdwru n lgeI ieau Baujlu qrY qrwis ]2] (22-6, isrIrwgu, mÚ 1)
jam jandaar na lag-ee i-o bha-ojal tarai taraas. ||2||
The Messenger of Death will not touch you; in this way, you shall cross over the terrifying world-ocean, carrying others across with you. ||2||.

jin har har har ras naam na paa-i-aa tay bhaagheen jam paas.
Those who have not obtained the Sublime Essence of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Har, are most unfortunate; they are led away by the Messenger of Death.

bharmay bhoolaa dukh ghano jam maar karai khulhaan.


Creation
God created the world (time).
vyl n pweIAw pMfqI ij hovY lyKu purwxu ] (4-17, jpu, mÚ 1)
vayl na paa-ee-aa pandtee je hovai laykh puraan.
The Pandits, the religious scholars, cannot find that time, even if it is written in the Puraanas.

vKqu n pwieE kwdIAw ij ilKin lyKu kurwxu ] (4-18, jpu, mÚ 1)
vakhat na paa-i-o kaadee-aa je likhan laykh kuraan.
That time is not known to the Qazis, who study the Koran.

iQiq vwru nw jogI jwxY ruiq mwhu nw koeI ] (4-18, jpu, mÚ 1)
thit vaar naa jogee jaanai rut maahu naa ko-ee.
The day and the date are not known to the Yogis, nor is the month or the season.

jw krqw isrTI kau swjy Awpy jwxY soeI ] (4-19, jpu, mÚ 1)
jaa kartaa sirthee ka-o saajay aapay jaanai so-ee.
The Creator who created this creation-only He Himself knows.


vfw swihbu vfI nweI kIqw jw kw hovY ] (5-1, jpu, mÚ 1)
vadaa saahib vadee naa-ee keetaa jaa kaa hovai.
Great is the Master, Great is His Name. Whatever happens is according to His Will.

Every Creature Praises Allah
Angels singh his hymss

gaavahi chit gupat likh jaaneh likh likh Dharam veechaaray.
Chitr and Gupt, the angels of the conscious and the subconscious who record actions, and the Righteous Judge of Dharma who judges this record sing.gwvin rqn aupwey qyry ATsiT qIrQ nwly ] (6-10, jpu, mÚ 1)
gaavan ratan upaa-ay tayray athsath tirath naalay.
The celestial jewels created by You, and the sixty-eight holy places of pilgrimage sing.

gaavahi joDh mahaabal sooraa gaavahi khaanee chaaray.
The brave and mighty warriors sing; the spiritual heroes and the four sources of creation sing.

gwvih KMf mMfl vrBMfw kir kir rKy Dwry ] (6-11, jpu, mÚ 1)
gaavahi khand mandal varbhandaa kar kar rakhay Dhaaray.
The planets, solar systems and galaxies, created and arranged by Your Hand, sing.

syeI quDuno gwvih jo quDu Bwvin rqy qyry Bgq rswly ] (6-11, jpu, mÚ 1)
say-ee tuDhuno gaavahi jo tuDh bhaavan ratay tayray bhagat rasaalay.
They alone sing, who are pleasing to Your Will. Your devotees are imbued with the Nectar of Your Essence.

hoir kyqy gwvin sy mY iciq n Awvin nwnku ikAw vIcwry ] (6-12, jpu, mÚ 1)
hor kaytay gaavan say mai chit na aavan naanak ki-aa veechaaray.
So many others sing, they do not come to mind. O Nanak, how can I consider them all?



soeI soeI sdw scu swihbu swcw swcI nweI ] (6-13, jpu, mÚ 1)
so-ee so-ee sadaa sach saahib saachaa saachee naa-ee.
That True Lord is True, Forever True, and True is His Name
hY BI hosI jwie n jwsI rcnw ijin rcweI ] (6-13, jpu, mÚ 1)
hai bhee hosee jaa-ay na jaasee rachnaa jin rachaa-ee.
He is, and shall always be. He shall not depart, even when this Universe which He has created departs.

gwvin quDno jqI sqI sMqoKI gwvin quDno vIr krwry ] (9-1, Awsw, mÚ 1)
gaavan tuDhno jatee satee santokhee gaavan tuDhno veer karaaray.
The celibates, the fanatics, and the peacefully accepting sing of You; the fearless warriors sing of You.

gwvin quDno pMifq pVin rKIsur jugu jugu vydw nwly ] (9-1, Awsw, mÚ 1)
gaavan tuDhno pandit parhan rakheesur jug jug vaydaa naalay.
The Pandits, the religious scholars who recite the Vedas, with the supreme sages of all the ages, sing of You.

gwvin quDno mohxIAw mnu mohin surgu mCu pieAwly ] (9-2, Awsw, mÚ 1)
gaavan tuDhno mohnee-aa man mohan surag machh pa-i-aalay.
The Mohinis, the enchanting heavenly beauties who entice hearts in paradise, in this world, and in the underworld of the subconscious, sing of You.

gwvin quDno rqn aupwey qyry ATsiT qIrQ nwly ] (9-2, Awsw, mÚ 1)
gaavan tuDhno ratan upaa-ay tayray athsath tirath naalay.
The celestial jewels created by You, and the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage, sing of You.

gwvin quDno joD mhwbl sUrw gwvin quDno KwxI cwry ] (9-3, Awsw, mÚ 1)
gaavan tuDhno joDh mahaabal sooraa gaavan tuDhno khaanee chaaray.
The brave and mighty warriors sing of You. The spiritual heroes and the four sources of creation sing of You.

gaavan tuDhno khand mandal barahmandaa kar kar rakhay tayray Dhaaray.
The worlds, solar systems and galaxies, created and arranged by Your Hand, sing of You.

syeI quDno gwvin jo quDu Bwvin rqy qyry Bgq rswly ] (9-4, Awsw, mÚ 1)
say-ee tuDhno gaavan jo tuDh bhaavan ratay tayray bhagat rasaalay.

Who is God

ik sansaaree ik bhandaaree ik laa-ay deebaan.
One, the Creator of the World; One, the Sustainer; and One, the Destroyer.

soeI soeI sdw scu swihbu swcw swcI nweI ] (9-5, Awsw, mÚ 1)
so-ee so-ee sadaa sach saahib saachaa saachee naa-ee.
That True Lord is True, forever True, and True is His Name.

hY BI hosI jwie n jwsI rcnw ijin rcweI ] (9-6, Awsw, mÚ 1)
hai bhee hosee jaa-ay na jaasee rachnaa jin rachaa-ee.
He is, and shall always be. He shall not depart, even when this Universe which He has created departs.

rMgI rMgI BwqI kir kir ijnsI mwieAw ijin aupweI ] (9-6, Awsw, mÚ 1)
rangee rangee bhaatee kar kar jinsee maa-i-aa jin upaa-ee.
He created the world, with its various colors, species of beings, and the variety of Maya.

kir kir dyKY kIqw Awpxw ijau iqs dI vifAweI ] (9-7, Awsw, mÚ 1)
kar kar daykhai keetaa aapnaa ji-o tis dee vadi-aa-ee.
Having created the creation, He watches over it Himself, by His Greatness.

jo iqsu BwvY soeI krsI iPir hukmu n krxw jweI ] (9-7, Awsw, mÚ 1)
jo tis bhaavai so-ee karsee fir hukam na karnaa jaa-ee.
He does whatever He pleases. No one can issue any order to Him.

so pwiqswhu swhw piqswihbu nwnk rhxu rjweI ]1] (9-8, Awsw, mÚ 1)
so paatisaahu saahaa patisaahib naanak rahan rajaa-ee. ||1||
He is the King, the King of kings, the Supreme Lord and Master of kings. Nanak remains subject to His Will. ||1||

peer paikaamar saalak saadak suhday a-or saheed.
The Pirs, the Prophets, the spiritual teachers, the faithful, the innocents and the martyrs,

saykh masaa-ik kaajee mulaa dar darvays raseed.
the Shaikhs, the mystics, the Qazis, the Mullahs and the Dervishes at His Door
brkiq iqn kau AglI pVdy rhin drUd ]3] (53-13, isrIrwgu, mÚ 1)
barkat tin ka-o aglee parh-day rahan darood. ||3||
-they are blessed all the more as they continue reading their prayers in praise to Him. ||3||


Malik Al Mouth angel at death time.
They wander lost and confused, deceived by doubt, suffering in terrible pain. The Messenger of Death shall beat them to a pulp.

ha-umai karam kamaavday jamdand lagai tin aa-ay.
Those who go around acting in egotism are struck down by the Messenger of Death with his club.
Gir mhil sic smweIAY jmkwlu n skY Kwie ]2] (67-12, isrIrwgu, mÚ 3)
ghar mahal sach samaa-ee-ai jamkaal na sakai khaa-ay. ||2||
In the mansion of the home within the self, we merge in Truth, and the Messenger of Death cannot devour us. ||2||

Allah is Self Suffiecent
puiC n swjy puiC n Fwhy puiC n dyvY lyie ] (53-13, isrIrwgu, mÚ 1)
puchh na saajay puchh na dhaahay puchh na dayvai lay-ay.
He seeks no advice when He builds; He seeks no advice when He destroys. He seeks no advice while giving or taking.

Remember our Death

AwKw jIvw ivsrY mir jwau ] (9-15, Awsw, mÚ 1)
aakhaa jeevaa visrai mar jaa-o.
Chanting it, I live; forgetting it, I die.

KMQw kwlu kuAwrI kwieAw jugiq fMfw prqIiq ] (6-16, jpu, mÚ 1)
khinthaa kaal ku-aaree kaa-i-aa jugat dandaa parteet.
Let the remembrance of death be the patched coat you wear, let the purity of virginity be your way in the world, and let faith in the Lord be your walking stick.

seechaanay ji-o pankhee-aa jaalee baDhik haath.
Think of the hawk preying on the birds, and the net in the hands of the hunter.

gur raakhay say ubray hor faathay chogai saath.
Those who are protected by the Guru are saved; the others are caught by the bait.
jo AwieAw so clsI Amru su guru krqwru ] (63-13, isrIrwgu, mÚ 1)
jo aa-i-aa so chalsee amar so gur kartaar.
Whoever comes must also go. Only the Guru and the Creator are Eternal.

hastee ghorhay paakhray laskar lakh apaar.
elephants, saddled horses, hundreds of thousands of uncounted armies
iks hI nwil n cilAw Kip Kip muey Aswr ]3] (63-14, isrIrwgu, mÚ 1)
kis hee naal na chali-aa khap khap mu-ay asaar. ||3||
-none of these will go along with anyone in the end, and yet, the fools bother themselves to exhaustion with these, and then die. ||3||


Allah is the Creator of the world

ik sansaaree ik bhandaaree ik laa-ay deebaan.
One, the Creator of the World; One, the Sustainer; and One, the Destroyer.

ijv iqsu BwvY iqvY clwvY ijv hovY Purmwxu ] (7-2, jpu, mÚ 1)
jiv tis bhaavai tivai chalaavai jiv hovai furmaan.
He makes things happen according to the Pleasure of His Will. Such is His Celestial Order.

Ehu vyKY Enw ndir n AwvY bhuqw eyhu ivfwxu ] (7-3, jpu, mÚ 1)
oh vaykhai onaa nadar na aavai bahutaa ayhu vidaan.
He watches over all, but none see Him. How wonderful this is

lKu lKu gyVw AwKIAih eyku nwmu jgdIs ] (7-7, jpu, mÚ 1)
lakh lakh gayrhaa aakhee-ahi ayk naam jagdees.
I would repeat, hundreds of thousands of times, the Name of the One, the Lord of the Universe.
bwbw Alhu Agm Apwru ] (53-10, isrIrwgu, mÚ 1)
baabaa alhu agam apaar.
O Baba, the Lord Allah is Inaccessible and Infinite.

Alwhu AlKu AgMmu kwdru krxhwru krImu ] (64-9, isrIrwgu, mÚ 1)
alaahu alakh agamm kaadar karanhaar kareem.
He is Allah, the Unknowable, the Inaccessible, All-powerful and Merciful Creator.
sB dunI Awvx jwvxI mukwmu eyku rhImu ]6] (64-10, isrIrwgu, mÚ 1)
sabh dunee aavan jaavnee mukaam ayk raheem. ||6||
All the world comes and goes-only the Merciful Lord is permanent. ||6||


Everything is according to Allah's will

kar kar vaykhai nadar nihaal.
Having created the creation, He watches over it. By His Glance of Grace, He bestows happiness.

tithai khand mandal varbhand.
There are planets, solar systems and galaxies.

jy ko kQY q AMq n AMq ] (8-6, jpu, mÚ 1)
jay ko kathai ta ant na ant.
If one speaks of them, there is no limit, no end.

The world will be destroyed one Day
quDu Awpy BwvY soeI vrqY jI qUM Awpy krih su hoeI ] (11-12, Awsw, mÚ 4)
tuDh aapay bhaavai so-ee vartai jee tooN aapay karahi so ho-ee.
Everything happens according to Your Will. You Yourself accomplish all that occurs.

quDu Awpy isRsit sB aupweI jI quDu Awpy isrij sB goeI ] (11-13, Awsw, mÚ 4)
tuDh aapay sarisat sabh upaa-ee jee tuDh aapay siraj sabh go-ee.
You Yourself created the entire universe, and having fashioned it, You Yourself shall destroy it all.

This world is engrossed in corruption and cynicism. Only those who know God are saved

Everything else is false except what pleases You

hor galaaN sabh koorhee-aa tuDh bhaavai parvaan. ||4||5||
Everything else is false. Whatever pleases Your Will is acceptable. ||4||5||

Fear Allah
Fear Of God
nwnk nwim ivswirAY dir gieAw ikAw hoie ]4]8] (17-9, isrIrwgu, mÚ 1)
naanak naam visaari-ai dar ga-i-aa ki-aa ho-ay. ||4||8||
O Nanak, those who forget the Naam-what will happen when they go to the Court of the Lord? ||4||8||
BY ibnu inrBau ikau QIAY gurmuiK sbid smwie ]1] rhwau ] (18-6, isrIrwgu, mÚ 1)

bhai bin nirbha-o ki-o thee-ai gurmukh sabad samaa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Without the Fear of God, how can anyone become fearless? Become Gurmukh, and immerse yourself in the Shabad. ||1||Pause||

mrxw mulw mrxw ] (24-8, isrIrwgu, mÚ 1)
marnaa mulaa marnaa.
Death, O Mullah-death will come,

BI krqwrhu frxw ]1] rhwau ] (24-9, isrIrwgu, mÚ 1)
bhee kartaarahu darnaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
so live in the Fear of God the Creator. ||1||Pause||
Kojq Kojq pwieAw fru kir imlY imlwie ] (57-17, isrIrwgu, mÚ 1)
khojat khojat paa-i-aa dar kar milai milaa-ay.
I searched and searched, and found God. In the Fear of God, I have been united in His Union.




iqQY loA loA Awkwr ] (8-6, jpu, mÚ 1)
tithai lo-a lo-a aakaar.
There are worlds upon worlds of His Creation.

ijv ijv hukmu iqvY iqv kwr ] (8-7, jpu, mÚ 1)
jiv jiv hukam tivai tiv kaar.
As He commands, so they exist.

vyKY ivgsY kir vIcwru ] (8-7, jpu, mÚ 1)
vaykhai vigsai kar veechaar.
He watches over all, and contemplating the creation, He rejoices.

Unbelievers have a disease
AYQY DMDu iptweIAY scu ilKqu prvwnu ] (21-13, isrIrwgu, mÚ 1)
aithai DhanDh pitaa-ee-ai sach likhat parvaan.
In this world, people are engrossed in false pursuits, but in the world hereafter, only the account of your true actions is accepted.
Forgetten the lord is desease
ieku iqlu ipAwrw vIsrY rogu vfw mn mwih ] (21-14, isrIrwgu, mÚ 1)
ik til pi-aaraa veesrai rog vadaa man maahi.
Forgetting the Beloved, even for a moment, the mind is afflicted with terrible diseases

Day of Judgement
ipq suqo sgl kwlqR mwqw qyry hoih n AMiq sKwieAw ] rhwau ] (23-16, isrIrwgu, mÚ 1)
pit suto sagal kaaltar maataa tayray hohi na ant sakhaa-i-aa. rahaa-o.
Father, children, spouse, mother and all relatives-they shall not be your helpers in the end. ||Pause||
ibKY ibkwr dust ikrKw kry ien qij AwqmY hoie iDAweI ] (23-17, isrIrwgu, mÚ 1)
bikhai bikaar dusat kirkhaa karay in taj aatmai ho-ay Dhi-aa-ee.
So weed out evil, wickedness and corruption; leave these behind, and let your soul meditate on God.
