Assalam-u-Laykum Warahamtullahi Wabarakatu,
Does anyone know when the actual night of Shab-e-Barat is here in the UK?
I hope we're all doing it on the same night...

15th Shab'ab (Shabe-barat) is on Tuesday 28th August.
We should devote ourselves in worship of Allah Almighty between the night of 14th to day of 15th Shab'an. Fasting is also advised for 13th, 14th or 15th.
May Allah accept all our prayers, inshallah.

I'm just as confused. How can it possibly be tonight. It totally contradicts the moonsighting in terms of actual sightings and observatory info. We Sunnis appear to be split. Does anyone know what 'Allama Zafar Firashwi's views are on this as he mashallah is an expert in this field. Even the deobndee's state it's tomorrow:

Why not celebrate the shab e barat for 3 nights in a row, then u wont miss it, just an idea, thas if we r unsure of wen the actual night is, because of us sunni's being so split up. Its wat i do, to be on the safe side.

there are sunni masjids that have done Shabe-e-Barat on Monday night and other Sunni Masjids that will be doing it on Tuesday night.
They have had roughly 15 days to confirm a date...
why can't Jamaat-e-Ahle Sunnat or Markazi Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat make proper announcements and notify the public through websites like these.
It can't be hard as there are members of this website who have close links with these organisations.
Official announcements are required, I can understand that these may not be possible for Eid/Ramadan decisions due to the short time but when dates such as Shab-e-meraj, Shab-e-Barat, Milad-un-Nabi fall many days after the birth of the moon this should be possible.

What really annoys me is the fact we have as far as memory serves me always done ramadhaan and eid on the correct dates. Yet despite having 15 days to ascertain the begiunning of sha'baan Sunnis appear split on what was a previoulsy unanimous matter.
