Assalamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu

I thought it would be good if we all shared our
favourite quotes here
They can be from the Qur'an, Hadith or sayings/quotes by Shaykhs, Imams, poets and others... Feel free to share

"I looked at all friends and did not find a better friend than safeguarding the tongue. I thought about all dresses, but did not find a better dress than piety. I thought about all types of wealth, but did not find a better wealth than contentment in little. I thought of all types of good deeds, but did not find a better deed than offering good advice. I looked at all types of sustenance but did not find a better sustenance than patience." Umar

Sometimes in order to help He makes us cry
Happy the eye that sheds tears for His sake
Fortunate the heart that burns for His sake
Laughter always follow tears
Blessed are those who understand
Life blossoms wherever water flows
Where tears are shed divine mercy is shown
- Rumi

Wa Alaikum Assalaam Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaatuhu,

My favourite quote for today or to this second is The Quranic Verse from Surah Baqarah:274.

Transliteration:
Allatheena yunfiqoona amwalahum biallayli waalnnahari sirran waAAalaniyatan falahum ajruhum AAinda rabbihim wala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona

English(Yusuf_Ali)
Those who (in charity) spend of their goods by night and by day, in secret and in public, have their reward with their Lord: on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

Subhan Allah! It is a Promise of Allah Azzawajal that whoever spends in charity, in His Way, there shall be no fear on The Day of Judgement for them.

This is both for the ones who give in charity, openly or in secret. Givng openly should be only done with the intention of teaching others to spend in Allah Azzawajal's Way while giving in His Way in secret has been reported in Ahadith-e-Mubarakahs also.

Both of them are permissible, spending openly or secretly, but with the perfect and sole intention of Seeking Pleasure for Allah Azzawajal. If one cannot help feeling pride in giving alms openly, then he should do it secretly.

I chose this Verse because at another place, in another Verse, Allah Azzawajal Says that His friends shall also have no fear nor grief on The Last Day which means that this reward is for both, the ones who have devoted their lives towards Allah Azzawajal and at the sametime also for the ones have ONLY given alms, openly or secretly, for His Pleasure. Subhan Allah!

Jazak Allah

Allah Allah...MashAllah Beautiful thread...JazakAllah for sharing brothers and sister.

I haven't really got any favourite quotes but I enjoyed reading these...

"If someone gave you a beautiful, expensive new dress, wouldn't you be
grateful for the generous gift???

Of course you would!!

But have you ever been grateful for the One who gave you the beautiful body to put that dress on???

And this one I got as a txt message...

Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

Asalamualaikum excellent thread mashallah.

"Wisdom is in the heart. He who wants to find water in his well must dig. The deeper he digs, the more abundant the water; if he stops digging, the water will not exceed the initial level. He who digs this well should not say, or believe, that all the water has reached its highest level; he must continue to dig; for this well has no limit."

"Love all people no matter what their religion, race or opinions! Everyone is where GOD meant him to be and it is not appropriate for us to be judgemental."

"Defects and ugliness are not in things or people, but in the impurity of our vision of them. The more the soul is peaceful, perfect and pure, the more it will become disposed to see in all people a Luminous Divine manifestation: all is beautiful. Only the unpolished heart of the disciple renders things ugly."

"Surely there has come to you a Messenger from among yourselves, heavy upon him is your suffering; ardently desirous of your welfare, and to the believers he is most kind and merciful." Surah at-Taubah : Ayah 128 (9:128)

In a shadhdh reading from Khatoon-e-Jannat (salaamullah alaiha), the Ayah says "Surely there has come to you a Messenger from the most precious among you, heavy upon him is your suffering; ardently desirous of your welfare, and to the believers he is most kind and merciful."

A shadhdh is a rare reading from the Holy Quran. They are authentic, but only have consensus and not multiple transmission.

PS Thanks to brother Rizwan Aziz for providing the attached lecture.

Sweetness comes from Love

The more  you use  love in your life the sweeter it will be.

If  you dont use it your life will be tough and rough.  Someone  who never tastes love is like dried wood

When love comes to nature ,   nature  turns green and gets its colours

Love goes through flowers, it goes through fruits

When   love reaches them in Springtime they start to laugh

So, when they take love, they give love

You must give love to your surroundings Everything around you is asking for your love

You must be  fountains of love,  Or springs of love, Or taps of love

Or rivers of love  or seas of love or

 Oceans of love.

We can't carry it by ourselves.  The love of the Lord Allah Almighty  comes to the   Prophet's heart and then,    through  the Prophet's  heart,  it goes through   Awliya's   hearts and  Awliya's hearts are sources of Divine  Love.     Anyone who find our Lord's  Awliya,   and goes to their hearts,    takes his share of Divine Love.    (awliya holy people)
