can you please post some good solid titles written in English (original english titles, not translations) on subjects such as History, Spirituality, and Jurisprudence.

Regarding history i was told to read the "History of Al-Tabari." A collection of volumes of different periods of Islamic History. Of course they were translated however, they are comprehensive and unique.

Jurisprudence: 

Khalid Abou El Fadl: "Induction" - One World Publications 2001. (very interesting).

Wael B Hallaq: "The Formative Period" in A History of Islamic Legal Theories, Cambridge: CUP 1997

Spirituality:

This is difficult as there are so many with different approaches. I suggest browsing through http://www.islamicbookstore.com
