Zoroastrians (Fire-worshipers) tend to have muslim names. I find it quite unusual.

Granted, having a 'muslim name' has become fashionable for a lot of non-muslims, however to my knowledge Zoroastrians always have had muslim names.

Does anyone know why? Or how this came about?

Sister Reshma, this is because of historical reasons as well as social reasons beside fashion reasons. If you look at the Zoroastrian migrations and where they lived you will understand.

But it is not true that they always have muslim names and always HAD Muslims names.

Before Islam did Zoroastrians have Muslim names. they did have Persian names and we Muslims took those Persian names and islamized them.

She is most likely talking about zoroastrians in Pakistan and India. Are there Iranian shia extremists over there?

Zoroastrians lived in Iran for a thousand years before it became shia. And they still had Muslim names (mosty Persian and Turko and some Arab)for much of that period.
