Thank you for sharing valuable information with us.
I just want to quote the difference between the 2 words:
Pagan adj. Pagan is used to describe religious beliefs and practices that do not belong to any of the main religions of the world.
Infidel An infidel is a person whose religion is different from that of the speaker; a literary word used showing disapproval. Count noun here but can also be used as an attributive adjective e.g. …the wicked opinions of her infidel son

Peace And Blessing Of Allah On All.ffice ffice" />>>
> >
I have been reading this thread started by John Davis with great interest. . If any of our non Muslim friends would like to learn more about Islam without constantly being barraged with " You must Come Muslmaan" ( You must become a muslim) i would suggest that you come to our Ziker gatherings which are held at ffice:smarttags" />8pm every Thursday. It is an open event any one can attend. This week we are having a large group of Christians (catholic and C of E) attending.>>
> >
We recently had a inter faith event the Christian community of Bury and Muslims. >>
http://www.noorulislam.org/html/event.htm>>
> >
It was a truly eye opening event. All mosques in Bury were open and a tour was given at our Mosque where we served food. We had around 100 Christians in attendance. Every one went away with a different view on Islam and Muslims.>>
> >
If anyone would like to attend the Ziker gathering please contact me via email:>>

Mr John I am grateful to you as this question of yours allows Muslims to give you and others non-Muslims a better understanding of the Quran and Islam.
I am very please to see all the respond that my Muslim brothers have given you though you have no intention to become Muslim. I really feel that you have been treated fairly and that is the true face of Islam.
I just want to explain to you the word Allah that we call God.
“Al” Arabic word meaning “The”
“Ilah” Arabic word meaning “god”
In Arabic if you want to say “The God” you say “Allah”.
Why do we use “The God” instead of just god? The reason is simple. When we say Allah we mean:
The God of Abraham (peace be upon him)
The God of Moses (peace be upon him)
The God of Jesus (peace be upon him)
The God of all the prophets that have come before Muhammad (S.A.W)
You may think why I am saying all these things. The reason is because all the prophets have the same God. Since it is the same God that we are talking about I am sure that God could not have had two types of messages sent to two different prophets.
In the bible it says:
Luke 22:36
He said to them, But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.
John 18:35-37
Jesus said, My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place.
Matthew 10 33
But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven. 34 Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn 'a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
Would I say because of these verses that Jesus (pbuh) wanted his companion to buy a sword because he wanted war?
Would I say Jesus (pbuh) was betrayed by his unfaithful companions and all who follows them (bible according to John…..etc ) are unfaithful to God.
Would I say that Jesus (pbuh) was a destroyer because he said he have not come to bring peace.
The answer is no to all these questions. Because I do not know under what circumstances these verses were sent by God to Jesus (pbuh). Likewise to understand the Quran you need other books which is call the “Tafsir” to refer tot.
Now I hope I have given you enough explanation that you can tell your neighbours so that they understand that if they have read just the Quran, this is not enough to draw conclusions not only on this matter but any matters. It is a bit more complicated than that to understand even one verse of Quran. You have to go through Tafsir and then hadith (Saying of Muhammad (S.A.W)) to know when and where and who this verse is being addressed to and who it is applicable on.
May Allah (The God) guide you onto the right path and surely you will be credited by Allah for your good action of just trying to understand a few verses of the Quran.
Wassalam to all muslim brothers and sisters

Dear John.
Welcome to YANABI. I am very pleased that you have purchased a Quraan. Insha-Allah you will see with your own eyes how peaceful a religion we are and how much respect we have for others. You will see how Islam is a complete religion and in our Holy Quraan and Hadiths you will witness that Allah (SWT) has an answer for everything. You will see how the media labels us, attaches stigmas to us, you will see how the world stereotypes us. I pray to the Almighty Allah (SWT), that the truth of Islam, the truth of The Ahle Sunnah Wa Ja'maah comes into your heart..
Reshma 100% Aashiq-E-Rasool (SAW) 100% Ahle Sunnah Wa Al Jama'ah

mirage (11.04.2004) Tahir - Thankyou for the response, it was indeed helpful. Now I feel more confident about responding to those claiming that Islam promotes violence. Does the term"associators" mean the same thing as "infidels"?
One more question - again I'm not sure if this is myth. The people who seem bent on discrediting Islam also state that the God of Islam, Allah is not the same as the Judeo-Christian God. I find this puzzling since I thought we are all supposed to have come fromAbraham, who knew the God Creator of all things. They say that Allah is amoon god. Is this another misinterpretation?
I find this very amusing:if someone maintains, that Christian God and Allah are different Gods, this way he maintains also, that he seriously believes there`s more than one God exist. That means,he cannot be Muslim himself, because no Muslim believes, that two Gods exist.

However what they fail to realise is that if I say "that house is red" and you say "that house is blue"! the HOUSE definitely exists, its just our interpretation/opinion (whatever you wanna call it) differs. So There is only one God, but we have different commandments given by us! (i dont know if i explained it or made it worse!) I hope more non-muslim come and ask question so that any misunderstandings between us & them are resolved instead of them being poisoned by "ill-informed" people bent on causing rifts/tensions! a certain "party" springs to mind..
