I have a question about zakat

If husband has money that is over the nisab and he is elligble to pay zakat and also the wife she has no money but gold which is less than 7 tola and is less than the nisab.  Does the husband have to pay zakat for his money too and also for the wifes gold too even though it is less than 7 tola.  or does the wife gold count as separate as her gold is her own.

and also if just say husband has around £500 and that is less than nisab but wife has gold that is also less than nisab, do they then have to give zakat as both of them total more than nisab. 

they both similar questions. its just confusing. some people say that both husband and wife count as one so even husband has £100 saving for a year but wife has gold that is lil bit less than nisab but since husband has £100 then all together its over the nisab and they have to pay zakat but some people say no they count as separate and wifes gold is separate and as long as its not over the nisab then she dnt have to pay zakat and husband has to just pay for his saving. that is if they are over the nisab.

Wel the wife does not work but husband works and he pays the bill and pays for food etc. and even gives some money to wife too as she dont work. but the wife gold is from the wedding.  You understand what am trying to say. some people say that wife gold is separate but some say no its not. its al included as one as the man is head of family.
