As our beloved prophet said there will be 73 sects in my Ummah ,72 out of which will go to Jahannam and one will go the jannah.
Now this is our responsibilty to find out which is right Islamic sect to be with?

I have a nice video on this topic.Have a look on it.

I have heard this hadith before as well. Can anyone enlighten me, when our Master (sawaw) said this, what was the response from audience ? Did anyone ask which will be the right sect ? and what was the reply ?

-Be merciful to those of you who are weak, for showing mercy to them is the means by which God will show mercy to you.
-People are hostile towards what they do not understand.
-Tears only dry up and fail to flow as a result of hard-heartedness and the hearts only harden as a result of an abundance of sins.
-Do not pay attention to the one who is speaking, but pay attention to what he is saying.
-Tolerance is the graveyard of defects.
-Whoever makes what does not concern him his business will fail to deal with what does concern him.
-Anger begins with madness and ends with regret.

Bismillairahmaaniraheem

In the light of the teachings of our Most Holiest Blessed Prophet Muhammad (sawaw) the following criteria is required for that sect to be acceptable.

That they follow the teachings of Quran and the Ahle Bayt (as) or Sunnah of them (in other words Sunnah of those who folowed the perfect examples of the Blessed Prophet (sawaw).

If we examine the most oldest sects which are the Ahle Sunna and Ahle Shia. Among the Ahle Sunna there have been countless walis and among the Shia's non !. The Ahle Sunna follows the way of the Ahle Bayt through their four main intellectual Imams of fiqh. Where as the Shias follow the liks of Kuluni Mufid Qummi Majilisi and call it following the 11 Imams.

Whats the main difference between the Shia Mujtahids such as Kuluni Mufid Qummi Majlisi and now Khomaini and Khomanai compared to the teachings of the 11 Imams well the first thing which is apparent is the lack of respect towards the Quran, Ahle Bayt, Sahaba, and the Blessed wives of the Holy Prophet (sawaw) The 11 Imams always respected them but the Shia Mujtahid have played foul and have even issued false allegations towards the Blessed Ahle Bayt (as).

Now lets examine if the the araba Imams of the Ahle Sunna differ from the teachings of the the Ahle Bayt (as) and here we do not find any major differences. The respect is there the ways of Sunna do not differ, no matam five prayer times followed length of beards, respect of the Holy Quran Sahaba Ahle Bayt and the wives of the Holy Prophet (sawaw) shared.

Most important the Friends of Allah (swt) are chosen among them not among the Shias,Deo,Wahabi, Salfi and others.

The sect that will enter Jannat (Paradise) will be the one with the most FRIENDS OF ALLAH (swt) among them ! NO DOUBT !

Ya Ghous Al Dastaghir

Salam Brother Zarb-e-Haidri,

If possible, can you paste the Arabic text and literal translation of the hadith.

I am curious to know what words our Master (sawaw) used, "sect" or "group". And why we interpret it in terms of aqaid (main difference between sects today) where as it can also apply to practices (to practice the teachings of islam).

For example:

If my beliefs put me in the right group But

- Don't pray 5 times a day
- Do not give zakat
- Do not follow moral/ethical values of islam
- Indulge in interest (ribah)
- Do not practice modesty  ...etc...etc...

then how will we interpret this hadith, which clearly declares me Jannati, belonging to the right group.

Bismillairahmaaniraheem

Narrated on the authority of Abu Najih al-Irbad bin Sariyah, radiyallahu 'anhu, who said:
The Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, delivered an admonition that made our hearts fearful and our eyes tearful. We said, "O Messenger of Allah, it is as if this were a farewell sermon, so advise us." He said, "I enjoin you to have Taqwa of Allah and that you listen and obey, even if a slave is made a ruler over you. He among you who lives long enough will see many differences. So for you is to observe my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly-principled and rightly-guided successors, holding on to them with your molar teeth. Beware of newly-introduced matters, for every innovation (bid'ah) is an error." [Abu Dawud & Al-Tirmidhi, who says it is an authentic hadith]

The Children of Israel divided into 72 sects. My community will divide into 73 sects, and all of them will be in the Hellfire save one.”The people asked him: And which one will that beHe (the Prophet sallahu alayhi wa ahle he wa sallam) replied: The one that follows what I and my Companions are upon right now.

What is obligatory cannot be set aside just because you belong to such a group that is going to Jannat. For example the Prophets prayed and did good though they were never destined for hell they did what they did out of taqwa and love of Allah (swt).

The groups of people who abstain from doing good works as long as their beliefs are correct (sahih) they would be more worthy of forgiveness than those who hold incorrect beliefs. Belonging to a group which is worthy of going to Jannat also carries the responsibilities of following the beliefs of that group.

Jazak Allah Khairan - Waslaam
