Moonsighting for Dhul-Hijjah 1430

The Astronomical New Moon is on November 16, 2009 (Monday) at 19:14 UT. This moon cannot be seen anywhere in the world. On November 17, it still cannot be seen in Asia, Europe and Canada. It can be seen in South Africa, Central America, and South America. In USA, there is a small chance to see it on November 17. Extract from moonsighting.com

Conclusion

Based on the ruling of sighting from the East of Uk the first day of Dul Hijaah based on positive sighting would be on Wednesday 18th November Inshallah and therefore for the UK Eid would be on Friday 27th November Inshallah. HOWEVER If NO positive sighting are received then the first day of Dul Hijjah would be on Thursday 19th November and therefore for the UK Eid would be on Saturday 28th November REGARDLESS OF SAUDI ANNOUNCEMENT. Please note that if you are not going on Hajj it is NOT necessary to follow saudis announcement because we celebrate the Eid and NOT perform hajj. With regards to fasting on the day of Arafat one can do this a day before Eid ul Adha (depending on the invidual countries announcement)
