Would you like fries with that? Go large for an extra 30p?

I'm sorry, but you're approach is completely wishful, hoping for a utopia. Each and every single one of your wants is highly controllable, it's a part of your domain and within your power.

The Italian matmatician had the theory of 'ratios of life' It's the pareto principle, known as the 80/20 ratio.  This is to say that, in 80% of your life, you only have 20% of control and in 20% of your life, you have 80% of control.  Always concentrate on that part of your life that which you have control over. Ocourse, the ratio is a guideline, you can flex it as and when you see fit.

This is to say,  concentrate on the 20% that you have within your control.

Don't expect the dua to do 100% of it, let's say for arguments sake, dua only toils for 50% of the problem, this still leaves 50% of toil that you have to put your back into.  Concentrate on your 50%, look for a job, make yourself attractive to employers, if you are ill, then no problem, do the half that you can, excercise daily, have a healthy food intake.  Don't want good friends, neighbours etc but be the good friend, be the good neighbour and this will hopefully rub off onto other people around you.

Remember, Quran Reciter is giving you 50% dua, KTL is awarding you 50% control, use it man.  Put your back into it.

The figures differ and they may go to 70/30, 90/10 or even 99/1 but the concept is the same. Du'a is a weapon of a believer but it also requires effort and action. May Allah (swt) make it easy for you.

And for me, it's even worse, when there's a 50/50 chance of something going right or wrong, there's a 90% chance it will go wrong :)

Jummah Mubarak!

ASalamualikum brother,

many times in life we are tested by Allah subhanawata'ala. just remember "After hardship comes ease, after hardship comes ease". Allah repeats this twice! to re-inforce this message and get it through to us.

Life is an ocean in which the waves of favour and disfavour constantly rise and fall. before long these difficulties you have will disappeare. i once heard that whoever fears Allah, Allah will will reduce all other fears he has. A person who fears Allah, what can harm him?

Tcre Wsalam

Prophet Muhammad (saw) (pbuh) "Do not acquire knowledge to compete with the scholars, nor argue with the ignorant, nor to gain mastery over gatherings. Since whoever does that, then:the fire!the fire!"

Assalamu alaikum,

Everyone here is looking for one-step solutions but did you notice that with each passing phases of your life, a better and stronger individual is coming out from inside you. Think it this way, don't worry about whats not in your control but take actiont to ammend what is as brother KTL pointed out. Did you ever sit down and thought why were you rejected from a job? Why was the other person picked? If your not competitive in the market, a job letter won't come to you from the sky (heavens) but rather you have to know the tricks of the trade and be honest with yourself. Never leave your basics given by Islam or use those short-cuts but where there is a will there is a way.

When was the last time you heard azan you stopped what you were doing, listened to it attentively and replied to the azan? When did you start moving for the jamaat straight away and included your 5 time prayers in your schedule for the day? When you are not sincere to yourself, how do you expect sincerity from others?

My prayers are with you brother, hope you find the peace your looking for but there is no gain without pain ! Remember this.

I had no knowledge of bowing (Ruku). What did I know about prostration? Was I in search of your footprints or was I prostrating in prayer..Strange is my life and my servitude

Wherever I found your footprints I made it my direction

Adhrikni Ya RasoolAllah (sallalahu alaihi wasalam)
