Can this topic be added to the Community highlights?, becasue the talk has some Aqeedah gems in it and it is by one of the most prominent Sunni scholar in the middle east, gems like loving the Prophet (saw) and respecting the Ulema and Awliya.

Also if someone from the Deobandi Maslak approaches us about certain issues we can prove to them that our aqeedah is conistent with the sunnis of the middle east and this is the Aqeedah being followed by the Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jammah for centuries.

We need to stick to Scholars like Shaykh Muhammad al Yaqoubi and others (may Allah bless them all) stick to them like glue. So please can this be added to the Community highlights please! Smile

P.S. has anyone actually heard this talk yet?, please leave your comments!!

Assalaam alaykum,

Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi is great isn't he!

And his English is AMAZING! Which foreginer ever uses the words "In so far as..."! A star of the scholars from a lineage equally as impressive. May Allah bless the guy and make us benefit from him!

I listened to the talk about shaykh Ahmed Habbal (ra)... and I realised... I've met shaykh Ahmed!!! I had to look at some pictures to double check, but I have actually attended one of his dhikr/hadra in Syria... I had no clue who he was at the time but I knew I was in the presence of a high authority.

And this talk is awesome. So concise, so relevant, so eloquent. If anybody has not listened to it then I want reasons why not!

It really inspires you to FIND someone like this and really serve them to benefit from them. It inspires you to stick to the shari'ah in order to gain Allah's pleasure.

No, truly! He is like a ruby amongst stones!

Romance for some..or fasting.
Maybe both the same...........

How about the bit in the lecture when the Shaykh mentioned about praising the Prophet (saw) in any way, no matter what people say, did u notice how passionately he said that bit, and everybody started to say Naar-e-takbir!!!

Allahu Akbar!! May Allah Preserve Him and send us to Jannat ul Firdas from His Waseela!

SubhanAllah such an amazing speech, covers many issues on Adab, Auliya, love etc. Alhamdulillah i was at this event and it was totally Electric!

I'd like to quote from the burdah of Imam Busairi (ra) insha Allah:

دَعْ مَا ادَّعَتْهُ النَّصَارٰى في نَبِيِّهِم
وَاحْكُمْ بِمَا شِئْتَ مَدْحًا فِيهِ وَاحْتَكَمِ

وَانْسُبْ إِلَى ذَاتِهِ مَا شِئْتَ مِنْ شَرَفٍ
وَّانْسُبْ إِلىَ قَدْرِهِ مَا شِئْتَ مِنْ عِظَمِ

فَإِنَّ فَضْلَ رَسُولِ اللهِ لَيسَ لَهُ
حَدٌّ فَيُعْرِبُ عَنْهُ نَاطِقٌ بِفَمِ

لَوْ نَاسَبَتْ قَدْرَهُ آيَاتُهُ عِظَمًا
أَحْيَى اسْمُهُ حِينَ يُدْعٰى دَارِسَ الرِّمَمِ

Discard what the Christians claim about their Nabi (Prophet), (i.e. ascribing godliness/divinity)
Then decide and say what you wish in praise of him (Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam)!

And attribute towards his personality whatever you wish of excellence,
And attribute to his dignified status as mush greatness as you wish.

For verily, to the excellence of the Messenger of Allah there are no
Bounds, that a speaker might (be able to) express with his mouth.

If his miracles were proportionate (according ) to his rank, in greatness,
Then his name would have, when called out brought decaying bones back to life!

I didn't go to the event, but I think it was in Birmingham at the opening of some institute by the sounds of it (he mentioned it somewhere in the beginning).

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

If I'm not mistaken, Shaykh Muhammad Al-Yaqoubi mentioned Shaykh Ahmad Al-Habbal in a talk last year and said that when Shaykh Ahmad Al-Habbal's watch would stop working, he never took it for repairs. Instead, he would always recite Salawat (durood shareef) upon it and the watch would start working again! SubhanAllah! Smile

Allah is not veiled from anyone, but to see Allah you need to remove all the obstructions. He, the Truth, is not veiled.
