I am already a brown belt in martial arts in GOZURIYU style. I have practised karate for 6 years but now I find that yoga is better.

.....??
Surely, you cant use yoga as a fighting form?
That would be both hilarious and inneffective.
I assume you mean by way of concentration and training of mind?
Btw,whats 'Gozuryu' ?

Martial arts is again a type of exercise which has been adopted especially by buddhists as it was developed by buddhist monks who wanted to meditate in jungles(forests) and they used these types of martial arts for their self defence as well

Not all martial arts were developed by buddhist monks, the shaolin kung fu forms yes,but not all ,as there are many fighting systems from other parts of the world.

Brother Shakir, have you ever practised Muraqbah, spiritual contemplation practiced by the people of Tasawwuf?

I would like you to compare the two if you can for us InshaAllah.

Dear brothers

Please make dua for me that ALLAH makes me a Zariah by giving appropriate resources and time so that I can work on this idea of ISLAMICYOGA, INSHAÀLLAH.

brother Mobasher,

I would be glad to know more about Muraqbah. Frankly speaking, I do not know about it.

If any way it can helpful, comparing than it would be very good.

Brother MohammedSabir,

Thanks for your motivating reply.

Oh yeah you could - concentrate hard enough and if your kanji and yin yang is right you might succeed in giving your opponent a splitting headache, or cause him to hallucinate pink bunny rabbits with duracel batteries pummeling him to the ground, or even cause his belt to tighten rendering him incapacitated to breathe, or if you're really good you might even cause a Ha Do Ken style fireball to emerge from your forehead formed out of sheer telekinetic powers to deliver a thunderous smash to your opponents rib cage knocking him senseless .... or by the time you get to your yin yang the lights go out and you wake up with a broken jaw in an ambulance after recieving a roundhouse kick form your opponent who got tired of your yin and yanging for about 5 minutes :)

But jokes aside - its a nice exercise to relieve stress and forget about ones troubles for a while. Just don't take the yin yang ranting above as serious advice if you plan on going for some tournaments ;)

Dear brother Faraz,

Thanks for your suggestion, but ALHAMDULILLAH I am already a brown belt in martial arts in GOZURIYU style. I have practised karate for 6 years but now I find that yoga is better.

Anyway, you better come to the main point and I again say, dont post without proper knowledge and thinking.

May ALLAH give guidance to all of us to remain on the straight path and behave properly and maturedly,

Aamin, Summa Aamin

Brother i thought a belt was only good for holding up ones trousers and it not a true indicator of ones fighting ability. At least thats what my master told me so does it matter if the belt is black, blue, pink, white or whatever.
