The Spiritual Secrets of Salat Ad-Duha

My personal Introduction

I first learnt about the practice more than the knowledge of salat Ad-duha and Salat Al-Ishraq and salat awwabin, salat for wudu and many other nafil-extra dhikr practices many years ago from Shaykh Nazim Haqqani’s gathering that I attended. Also I memorized Surah Inshirah-(The Expansion) simply by attending the Haqqani gatherings in my home town, many years ago and never needed to look at a Quran with that Surah. Surah Inshirah 94 chapter of Quran which starts, Alam nashrah laka sadraka-Have we not expanded your breast-(heart).

The first ayah-sign or indication of Surah Inshirah is mentions expansion of the Sadr-Heart or Breast, as the breast plate covers the heart and protects the Heart. We have 4 Hearts types or levels of the Heart; 1. Outer heart-Sadr 2. Surah Inshirah is used in the beginning of the haqqani Dhikr, as to make the heart ready or prepare it to receive heavenly lights and gifts as the Dhikr progresses, this surah is also good to read while studying and learning as it mentions opening the heart to receive knowledge ‘Have we not expanded your breast-(heart) and also ‘After every difficulty comes ease. Surely after every difficulty comes ease’.

I was interested and wanted to know more about these nafil-extra of salah-prayers that the Haqqani mureeds performed. And It was through studying and learning did I get to know more about their worth and merit.

Years later through an interesting conversation with a Qadiri-Noshahi Pir-sahib in my home town of Slough, Berkshire- UK, did the real interest really built up to search or more the quest and yearning about salah ad-duha start to happen. The Pir-sahib mentioned a Poem that is taught from heart to heart, which is in old Punjabi and many of the words are difficult to understand; it was the Manzuma-didactic Poem of Hajji Muhammad Noshah Ganj Baksh.

Manzuma-didactic Poem

A note: about Manzuma-didactic Poem; didactic-(Intended to instruct or teach) poems and designed as mnemonics; - mnemonics is the process of recalling or memorizing a memory aid, it’s a formula or rhyme, used as an aid in remembering. The art of memorization is referred to as mnemonics. Mnemonics are methods for remembering information that is otherwise quite difficult to recall. This was and the technique that Muslim scholars used to learn and teach the Deen, the poems like flash card that trigger keys in one’s mind to help them remember text or subject headings, that same when one is giving a lecture today with PowerPoint slide all see are the bullet points which are the flash cards for the speak to then talk about. But Arabic didactic poems are much more powerful and comprehensive in meaning that they had key words that served as instructions and indications to follow. One famous Manzuma-(didactic poem) that I will mention is that of Sidi Ibn Ashir's 'Al-Murshid Al-Mu'in'-The Helpful Guide. Al-Murshid Al-Mu'in is a about creed, basic maliki fiqh and tasawwuf.

The Pir-sahib repeated some of the lines, and said he had difficulty understanding some of the terms used as it is very old Punjabi, and had to search out the meanings when he first learnt it. One of the lines mentions a special time in the day Duha. The thing was, I had been reading about salat ad-duha and the best time for Duha too. The Poem was the guidelines that gave indications on how to follow the path-tariqah and also about the indications on fath-openings to Waliyah-sainthood.

In ‘Sufi sage of Arabia’ by Imam Haddad from chapter 4 ‘structuring time’, it mentions that the Imam Haddad prayed 4 rakah of salat al-Ishraq and later the shaykh perform 8 rakah salat Ad-Duha. Also on Friday he would read surah Kahf and Ta-ha among others things on Friday and after zuhr reciting 1,000 laelaha-ill-lallah and doubling the number in the month of Ramadhan thus 2,000 and read into the first 5 days of Shawal so to total 70,000 laelaha-ill-lallah, the number which is said to bring salvation from the hell fire for oneself or on behalf of the decreased who it is done for.

salat al-Ishraq

Note: about the salat al-Ishraq-the Sunrise prayer, its 4 rakah, which is read in 2 rakah each, the time for Ishraq is 15-20mins after sunrise. Hadith ‘Whosoever offers his morning (fajr) prayer in congregation, then remains seated making the dhikr of Allah until the sun rises, and thereafter offers two rakats, they will receive the reward of performing a Hajj and Umrah’. Some say that Salat al-Ishraq and Salat al-Duha are the same pray. But they are not, they are two separate prayers. The recommended time for offering Ishraq prayer is 15 mins immediately after sunrise,

whilst Duha prayer (which is also called Chasht prayer in Urdu) is offered later on before Zawwal- the Zenith. There is also the of Wird Al-Ishraq by al-Ghawth al’Azim Shaykh Abdal-Qadiri Jilani and should be recited after praying salat-al-ishraq some of its line are:

The Light of Allah has shone forth and the Word of Allah has become manifest and the Commandment of Allah has been established, and the Law of Allah has come into force, and I have put all my trust in Allah...............

I have found shelter in Allah's hidden grace, and in the grace of Allah's work, and in the beauty of Allah's protection, and in the splendor of Allah's remembrance, and in the strength of Allah's authority. I have entered Allah's safekeeping and I have sought refuge with Allah's Messenger (salla 'llahu 'alai-hi wa sallam).

I have washed my hands of my personal power and strength, and have turned for help to the power of Allah and His strength. O Allah, shield me and protect me in my religion and my worldly business, my family and my property, my children, my companions and my friends, with that shield of Yours with which You have shielded Your Essence, so that no eye can see You and no hand can reach You..............

From Imam Haddad and about praying the extras-nafil and Salat Ad-duha

From Imam Haddad; …persevere with Witr and Duha prayers… be extremely careful to always keep alive the periods between the dawn–fajr and sunrise-(salat al-Ishraq is 15mins after is sunrise), and between the afternoon prayer-‘Asr and Maghirb-sunset for these are noble times where those servants who turn to Allah receive the flow of assistance-(Madaad or madaat). The time following the dawn prayer-Fajr when kept alive, has a powerful and specific effect in attracting material provision-Riqz, whereas, the time following the afternoon prayer-‘Asr if kept alive, has the powerful effect in attracting provision-Rizq for the heart-Rizq (also means knowledge). Taken from Imam Haddad’s book ‘Two treatises mutual Reminding and Good Manners’ in section from Good Manners Chapter 8’.

Also from the ‘Book of Assistance’ Give life to the time between the night prayers-(Maghrib and Isha; after maghrib praying minimum 6 rakah of Awwabin which is equal of 12 years of worship maximum is 20 rakah and after ‘isha praying 4 or more and then sleeping and rising up the last third of the night and praying Tahajjud ending with Witr), 4 rakah after Isha payer are equal to layla tul Qadr. Keep rising in prayer in at night, it draws you closer to your Lord, atones sins, forbids you from evil and protects the body from sickness. Rising after some sleep at night and praying will defect the devil and resistance for the ego and has wondrous secrets this is Tahajjud. Allah has gathered every goodness into the night and no Wali-Sainthood was ever determined-(granted) to a saint except at night.

Allah descent to the lowest Heaven at the last third of every night, asking is there any one that wants there duas answered, is there anyone that wants forgiveness, is there anyone that I can give? This holy noble time is a intimate time to be alone with Allah, when one gives life or Nur-light to the night, Allah will give life or Nur-light to their heart.

Also from ‘The counsel of Imam Nawawi’ by Shaykh Hamza Yusuf; footnotes..there is a large portion about the path to Allah that appears in the great Imam Nawawi’s al-Maqaasid; Adhering to the 8 raka’ats of the midmorning prayer-(salahad-Duha) and the 6 raka’ats-Awwbin after the sunset prayer-Maghrib and before the night prayer; Performing the night prayers (tahajjud) after awaking from one’s sleep; fulfilling the witr prayer; fasting on Mondays and Thursdays and on the three days of the full moon – i.e. the 13th,14th, and 15th of the lunar month – and also the days of the year in which fasting is recommended; Reciting the Quran with the heart’s presence coupled with reflection upon its meanings; Frequently asking forgiveness of Allah (istighfar); maintaining prayers and blessings upon the Prophet, peace be upon him; and, finally, adhering to the meritorious invocations of the morning and the evening that have come to us from the Sunna (adhkaar as-sabaah wa al-masa’).

every moment you experience is a part of your destiny

[size=2] Destiny is God’s willing and creation of all past and future events in a timeless dimension. God has created the chain of all events that have happened or will ever happen, moment by moment, down to the tiniest detail.
The beginning and ending of everything is set out in this infinite progression in His sight. Everything is over and done with. This means that people have no power or means to make any changes in their destiny.
In order to understand the concept of destiny, you can think of a video cassette. All the scenes in this film, how long each will last, and the beginning and end of the film are all predetermined. It is of course impossible for any actor in the film to step outside it and intervene in it in any way. It is impossible for him to make any deletions, additions or alterations to the film he is in.
This is why expressions such as “cheating fate” or “changing the course of fate” which one hears from time to time, make no sense, as in this example.
A person can spend weeks in a coma and it may seem as if there is no hope that he can be restored to health. Yet his unexpected recovery would neither mean that he had cheated his fate, nor that it had been changed by his doctors. It just reveals that the time determined for him has not yet come. Like everything, this is, too, determined in the sight of God and is part of destiny:
[b]...And no living thing lives long or has its life cut short without that being in a Book. That is easy for God. (Surah Fatir, 11)[/b] [/size]

Knowing one's soul

Another very important piece of information the Qur'an gives us about man concerns his "soul" (an-nafs). The "soul," as commonly used in the Qur'an, means "ego" or "one's personality."

In the Qur'an, Allah explains the two aspects of soul: the one inspiring evil and wicked deeds, and the other, guarding against every inculcation of evil. The Qur'an explains this in Surat ash-Shams:

[b]By the Soul, and the proportion and order given to it; and its enlightenment as to its wrong and its right; truly, he succeeds that purifies it, and he fails that corrupts it! (Surat ash-Shams: 7-10)

As is evident from the above verses, evil exists in every man's soul. However, he who purifies his soul will attain salvation. Believers do not surrender their selves to the evil in their soul; they simply avoid it with the guidance of Allah's inspiration. As the Prophet Yusuf (as) said: [b]"Not that I am free from sin: man's soul is prone to evil-except his to whom my Lord has shown mercy…" (Surah Yusuf: 53)[/b], provides the right manner of thinking for a believer.

Since the soul "is prone to evil," a believer must always remain vigilant about his soul. As the Prophet Muhammad (saas) also said, "the greatest struggle is the struggle against one's self (nafs)." The soul unceasingly tempts a person and never earns him Allah's approval. As it does all these things it tries to present alluring alternatives. A believer, however, thanks to his fear of Allah, is not deceived by this "misleading" attribute of the soul. He always turns towards what is right to lead a life in compliance with Allah's Will. Such is the attitude of a wise person as opposed to a foolish one, as the Prophet (saas) said:

A wise person is one who keeps a watch over his bodily desires and passions, and checks himself from that which is harmful and strives for that which will benefit him after death; and a foolish person is one who subordinates himself to his cravings and desires and expects from Allah the fulfilment of his futile desires.

Believer's Compassion

[b]Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and those who are with him are fierce to the unbelievers, merciful to one another. (Surat al-Fath, 29)

Muslims have seen many wars, suffered difficult conditions and unhesitatingly risked their own lives over the course of the last 1400 years. The reason is that Muslims have a strong desire to gain Allah’s (God’s) approval, look at all events with an eye to eventual recompense and wholeheartedly want Paradise to be their eternal abode in the Hereafter. Believers who display a complete submission to destiny never despair or feel afflicted under any circumstances. They are always at ease and content with Allah.

In addition to having an active and strong character, Muslims are also highly genuine and compassionate toward one another. They protect one another, watch out for one another’s needs and place them before their own wishes. Since they abide by Allah’s commandment, they are always secure and at peace.

When One Wakes up in the Morning

Only those who reflect can understand and assume a different position than others. The situation of those who cannot see the miraculous events around them and cannot reflect has been related in the verses of Allah as follows:

[b]The likeness of those who disbelieve is that of someone who yells out to something which cannot hear – it is nothing but a cry and a call. Deaf – dumb – blind. They do not use their intellects. (Surat al-Baqara: 171)[/b]

There is no need for special conditions for someone to start thinking. From the moment we wake up in the morning, plenty of opportunities for thought lie before us.

A long day lies before us when we wake up in the morning. Most of the time, we do not feel tired or sleepless, we are ready to start everything over again. Thinking this, one remembers a verse of Allah:

[b]It is He Who made the night a cloak for you and sleep a rest, and He made the day a time for rising. (Surat al-Furqan: 47)[/b]

Washing the face and taking a shower, we pull ourselves together and come more fully to our senses. Now we are ready to think on many useful issues. There are many concerns much more important than what we will have for breakfast or what time we have to leave home, and we first have to think about them.

First of all, our being able to wake up in the morning is a great miracle. Despite having lost consciousness entirely, in the morning we recover consciousness and our personalities. The heart beats, we are able to breathe, talk and see. In fact, when we go to sleep, there is no guarantee that these favors will be returned to us in the morning. Nor have we met any disasters during the night. For example, the absent-mindedness of a neighbor could cause a gas leakage and great explosion during the night could have woken us. A catastrophe could have occurred in the region where we lived and we could have lost our lives.

We could have had other problems with our bodies; for example, we could have woken up with severe pains in the kidneys or with a headache. Yet, none of these happened and we have woken up safe and sound. Thinking on all of this, we thank Allah for His mercy and protection.

Starting a new day in good health means Allah's giving us another chance to achieve more for the Hereafter.

Therefore, the best attitude to take is that we will spend our day in such a way as to please Allah. Man should, prior to everything else, make plans for this and keep his mind occupied with thoughts of that sort. The starting point for pleasing Allah is to ask Him for help about this matter. The prayer of the prophet Sulayman sets a good example for the believers:

[b]My Lord, keep me thankful for the blessing You have bestowed on me and on my parents, and keep me acting rightly, pleasing You, and admit me, by Your mercy, among Your righteous slaves. (Surat an-Naml: 19)[/b]

Allah has made sorrow unlawful

That is why a great many people are wracked by doubts.

The Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said “He who clings fast to my Sunnah (way of life) when my Ummah is corrupt, will receive the Reward of a hundred martyrs.”

[b]The Gospel of Barnabas mentions:[/b]

‘…Adam, having sprung upon his feet, saw in the air a writing that shone like the sun, which said: “There is only one God, and Muhammad is the Messenger of God.” Whereupon Adam opened his mouth and said: “I thank Thee, O Lord my God, that Thou hast deigned to create me; but tell me, I pray, what meaneth the message of these words: “Muhammad is the Messenger of God.” Have there been other men before me?”

‘Then said God: “Be thou welcome, O my servant Adam. I tell thee that thou art the first man whom I created. And he whom thou hast seen [mentioned] is thy son, who shall come into the world many years to hence, and shall be my Messenger, for whom I created all things; who shall give light to the world when he shall come; whose soul was set in a celestial splendour sixty thousand years before I made everything.”

‘Adam besought God, saying: “Lord, grant me this writing upon the nails of the fingers of my hands.” Then God gave to the first man upon his thumbs that writing; upon the thumb-nail of the right hand it said: “There is no God, ” and upon the thumb-nail of the left hand it said: “Muhammad is the Messenger of God.” Then with fatherly affection the first man kissed those words, and rubbed his eyes, and said: “Blessed be that day when thou shalt come to the world…”

[b]In the Hadith:[/b]

The Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said, “whosoever has touched the name Muhammad with his hands, then kissed his hand with his lips and rubbed it on his eyes, then he will see Allah Ta’ala just as righteous ones see and my intercession will be close to him even though he is a sinner.’’ (An Nawafi ul Atri’aa)

In Jannat, when Hazrat Adam (alaihis salaam) desired to meet the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam), then Allah Ta’ala sent Wahi (revelation) to him, “From your generation, he will become apparent in the later years.” Then Hazrat Adam (alaihis salaam) desired from Allah Ta’ala to meet the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam). Allah Ta’ala showed him the Noor of the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) on the Shahadat finger of his right hand. The Noor recite the Tasbeeh of Allah Ta’ala. It is for this reason that this finger is known as the kalmia finger. Allah Ta’ala showed the beauty of Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) on the thumbnails of Hazrat Adam (alaihis salaam) like a mirror. Then, Hazrat Adam (alaihis salaam) kissed his both the thumbnails and turned them over his eyes.

Thus, this Sunnah of Hazrat Adam (alaihis salaam) became consistent in his descendant. When Hazrat Jibraeel Ameen (alaihis salaam) informed Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) of this he said, “that person, who when hearing my name in Azaan, kisses his thumbnails and turns it over his eyes, he shall never go blind.” (Tafseer Roohul Bayaan).

Once the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) entered the Masjid and sat down near the pillar. Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (radi Allahu anhu) was seated beside him. Hazrat Bilal (radi Allahu anhu) then stood up and commenced with Azaan. When he said: “ Ash hadu Ana Muhammadur Rasoolullah”, Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (radi Allahu anhu) placed his both the thumbnails on to his eyes and said “Qurratu Aini Bika Ya Rasoolullah” ( Ya Rasoolullah! You are the coolness of my eyes). When Hazrat Bilal completed Azaan, the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said, “O Abu Bakr! Whosoever does like you have done, Almighty Allah will forgive his all sins.” (Tafseer Roohul Bayaan).

Sayyiduna Imam Hasan (radi Allahu anhu) said Whosoever hears the Mu’azzin say’ “ Ash hadu Ana Muhammadur Rasoolullah” and says “Marhaba bi Habibi” and “Quratu Aini Muhammad Bin Abdullah” and then kisses his both the thumbs and keeps it on his eyes, then he will never become blind and his eyes will never be sore.” (Maqaaside Husna).

In fiqh, the discussion of taqbil al-unbulatayn wa mash al-’aynayn is usually found at the end of Bab Adhan. Certain gestures performed during the adhan, and specifically the ‘amal of kissing the thumbs and wiping the eye, are something known to Shafi’is, and there can be no objection whatsoever by our jurists (and any jurists for that matter) to those wishing to perform this ‘amal: as far as we are concerned, it is classified under the category of the Fada’il al-A’mal [I'anat, 1:243; al-Jurdani, Fath al-'Allam, 2:140-1].

Among its legal bases ['ilal] is that it is a Sunna of the first Khalifa of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him!) [i.e., an Athar of the first Khalifa], and it is also based on a number of Hadiths, of which the most well known is the Hadith of Abu Bakr (may Allah be well pleased with him!).

PROPHET MOHAMMAD'S MANNER OF
PERFORMING PRAYERS
By SHEIKH ABDUL AZIZ IBN ABDULLAH IBN BAZ

All praise be to Allah alone, and may His peace and blessings be upon His messenger and
bondsman our Prophet Mohammed, his family and his companions.
The objective of this concise pamphlet is to explain how prophet Mohammed (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to perform his prayers. I would like to present this explanation to every male and female Muslim so that they may strive to
take up the Prophet's manner in performing their prayers as a model for them.
It was narrated by Al Bukhari that Prophet Mohammed (Peace and blessings of Allah be on him) had said: "Perform your prayers in the same manner you had seen me doing."
Therefore, here is the explanation for the Prophet's manner of prayer:

(1)To perform completely the ablution, adopting the method commanded by Allah in theQuran:

"O you who believe, when ye prepare for prayer, wash your faces and your hands (and arms) to the elbows, rub your heads(with water) and (wash) your feet to the ankles." (S:6)

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) said: "Prayer without ablution is invalid."

(2) To turn one's face and whole body towards the Ka'aba, The Holy House at Makkah, intending by heart to perform the prayer which he wants to fulfill, whether it is an obligatory prayer or a supererogatory prayer, the worshipper in all cases, should not

pronounce his intention openly, because neither the Prophet nor his companions used to utter the intention for prayer. Thus, pronouncing the intention for prayer in audible voice is a heresy and an illicit action. Whether the individual be an Imam or performs his prayer individually, he should make (A Sutra) i.e. a curtain for his prayer. Directing the face towards the Qibla (The Ka'aba at Makkah) is an imperative condition for every prayer.

However, there are few exceptions for this rule explained in authoritative books for whom who wish to refer.

(3) To pronounce "Takbirat Al Ihram" that is to say "Allahu Akbar" celebrating by that the greatness of Allah and looking meanwhile, downwards to the place where he will prostrate.

(4) To raise one's hands up to the level of the shoulders or near to the lobes of his ears, while pronouncing "Takbirat Al- Ihram".

(5) To put one's right hand over his left hand and left wrist, and put them both over his chest, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to do.

(6) It is advisable that the worshipper recite this opening supplication saying:

"Allahumma bald bayni wa bayena khatayaya kama boadta bayena al-mashriki wal maghribi, Allahumma naqqiniy min khatayaya kama yonaqa al thawbo alabyndo min aldans... Allahumma igysilniy min khatayaya bilmai wathalgi walbarad."

This supplication means: "O Allah, separate me from my sins as You have separated the east and west. O Allah, cleanse me of my sins as the white rope is cleansed from dirt. O Allah, wash off my sins with water, snow and hail."
Or, may say instead:
"Sobhanaka Allahumma wa bihamdika wa~abaraka Ismoka wata'la jaddoka wala ilaha ghayroka"
"Praise and glory be to Allah. Blessed be Your Name, exalted be Your Majesty and Glory. There is no god but You."

Or he may say any other supplications which the Prophet, (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) used to say in his prayers. It is better to recite these supplications alternately, the first one in the morning prayer "Fajr", the second in the noon prayer "Zuhr", each one by turn, in conformity with what the Prophet used to do.

After reciting the opening supplication, the worshipper says:

"Aouzo billahi min al-shaytani-r-ragim”

Which means:
"I seek protection of Allah against the accursed Satan."
Then says:
"Bism illahi-Rahmani Raheem"
Which means:
"In the name of Allah, the All Merciful, the All Compassionate."
and recites the Fatiha (The opening Sura of the glorious Quran).

Prophet Mohammed, may peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Prayer without reciting the Fatiha is invalid".

The worshipper should say "A'meen" after reciting the Fatiha loudly if the prayer is said loudly, and whisper it in inaudible prayers. To be in conformity with the traditions of the Prophet, the worshipper -is advised to recite verses from medium size Suras

of the Quran in the Zuhr (noon), Asr (late afternoon), and Isha (night) prayers.

As for the Fajr (morning) prayer, the worshipper is advised to recite a passage from the long Suras of the Quran. He has the choice in Maghrib prayer (Evening prayer) either to recite passages from the long Suras or from the short Suras 6 of the Quran.

Manners of Talking

When speaking, speak slowly and clearly so people can understand you and you can give people a chance to speak. To make people understand, try and repeat what you say. When someone is talking then look at the person and pay attention.(from world's first journey by Malik Javed)

Ludovic Kennedy the TV journalist and presenter states; The three most important qualities in a good speaker are'...a relaxed stance, the careful use of gesture and short simple sentences.'

Lord Reith, founder of the BBC, always said that the three main purposes of broadcast radio were to:
1. Educate
2. Inform
3. Entertain

The Messenger of Allah, May bless him and grant him peace, educated his Ummah of the truth, he informed us about the rights of people and entertained those who followed the Qur'an and the Sunnah with the glad tidings of Jannah.

EYE CONTACT

Anne Nicholls author of 'Mastering public speaking' writes; 'If you avoid eye contact it looks as if you are unsure of yourself or that you don't believe in what you are saying. A broad sweep is better than jerky eye movement with your eyes flitting all over the place that unsettles them.'

FACIAL EXPRESSION

Anne Nicholls further writes; 'There is nothing more captivating than a smile. This will help you to relax and make a positive communication. The messege it conveys to the person is: 'I am pleased to be here and looking forward to meeting you.' This makes the person feel good and their mood is conveyed back to you - Which helps you feel good, too.'

THE SUNNAH

When someone wanted to talk to our peloved Prophet, May Allah bless him and grant him peace, he would turn toward him fully and face him directly. Aisha, Allah be pleased with her, states, 'When the Messenger, May Allah bless him and grant him peace, spoke it was clear and every listening person could understand (what he said).'

Anas , May Allah be pleased with him, stated that, 'When the Prophet. May Allah bless him and grant him peace, would talk, he repeated it (that which he said) three times so that it could be understood.'

Jabir Ibn AbdAllah, May Allah be pleased with him, says, "After I accepted Islam, The Messenger of Allah, May Allah bless him and grant him peace, never prohibited me from attending his assemblies. Whenever he saw me he smiled."

To smile at a Muslim brother is charity. Smile and recieve the reward of Sadaqa.

[b]Six months after the death of the Prophet (pbuh), in the month of Ramadan, Hazrat Fatima (RA) passed away. It was the 11th Hijrah on [i]Tuesday 3rd of Ramadan,[/i] according to the Islamic calendar. At the time of her death she was 29 years old.

Hazrat Fatima (RA) was the dearest and best daughter of Our beloved Prophet (pbuh). The Prophet (pbuh) loved her the most. So did she love the Prophet (pbuh).

Hazrat Aisha (RA) says: "I have never seen anyone whose habit, character and the manner of speech were as similar to the Prophet (pbuh) as Fatimah's ".

Ablution

"Perform your prayers in the same manner you had seen me doing." Therefore, here is the explanation for the Prophet's manner of prayer:

1.
To perform completely the ablution adopting the method commanded by Allah in the Quran:
{ يأيها الذين امنوا إذا قمتم إلى الصلاة فاغسلوا وجوهكم و أيديكم إلى المرافق وامسحوا برؤوسكم و أرجلكم إلى الكعبين }

New classes in Mantiq/Logic for Dars-e-Nizami Students

We are thinking of starting new classes in mantiq at the Dar-ul-Uloom Qadria Jilania in Manchester. The classes to begin will take place on Fridays after Jumu'a prayer. We may cover another subject alongside this or go over Qura'nic grammar/tarkeeb.

Students interested will know the pre-requisites, but for those that do not, you will need to know some Sarf and Nahw that will assist you in reading ibarat.

Please let me know if you are interested or any questions/adjustments in mind...if there is enough interest the classes will begin straight away.

It is a very good time to begin as students at university will now be on holiday. Friday is a convenient day that should suit people who even need to travel from other cities.

We are currently holding Dars-e-Nizami classes from Monday-Wednesday and this is open for everyone, including beginners. At present these classes are taught completely free, all that is reqiured is interest and dedication from students. In the near future we have some big plans for the madrassa which I will reveal shortly insha'Allah.
