I have formulated new names for user levels depending on the number of posts made. They are based on the moon phases. I hope you will like the idea insha'Allah.

Below are the values that determine your user status:

1-100 posts: New Moon

100-500 posts: Waxing Crescent

500:1000 posts: First Quarter

1000-3000 posts: Waxing Gibbous

3000+ posts: Full Moon

Those who are not familiar with the moon phases cannot look at the diagram, we are only using the bottom half i.e. the waxing moon up till the full moon and not the waning moon (insha'Allah none of our users wane or decline, they only grow better, improve and climax).

Tahir is designing some cool icons that match your user level so you shall see them next to your user status on the forum.

You have done me a great honour by inviting me here today and I thank you for it. It is a privilege to address any gathering to mark the birthday of the Prophet, but a special privilege to address the largest gathering in Europe.

I speak to you today in a spirit of respect for the Muslim faith that inspires over a billion people around the world. I speak to you in a spirit of humility at the great challenges we must address together. I speak to you in a spirit of gratitude for the contribution that the Muslim communities of Britain make to our country: from business to culture and now to politics, with Muslims represented in local councils and for the first time in the Cabinet itself, you are our colleagues and our friends in the great task of building this country’s future.

Two million Muslims help make Britain a great country. Your enterprise helps us build our way out of recession. Your values help teach the next generation. And your international outlook gives us a unique set of links around the world.

I have just come from a meeting with President Zadari of Pakistan. He asked me to convey his greetings to you. President Zadari and the people of Pakistan need our cooperation and help as they confront the challenges facing that country.

The Hadith says: “None of you truly believes until he wishes for his brother what he wishes for himself.” This Golden Rule is shared by all the major religions, and it is the foundation for this Government’s development work overseas.

Over the next year we will provide almost £8bn of aid to poorer countries – to tackle disease, lack of education, poverty. This includes over £200m a year to Pakistan. By next year Pakistan will be our second largest development programme anywhere in the world. It pays for water and health facilities for more than 1 million people displaced by instability in the west of Pakistan. It pays for 6 million Pakistani children to go to school. It helps save the lives of 300,000 pregnant women.

Miwlid is an occasion for all of us, Muslim and Non Muslim, to reflect on the teaching of the Prophet. He taught of the single moral universe we all inhabit. He spoke of humanity interlinked as different parts of the human body. He described the interconnectedness of life. He addressed the need for responsibility from each of us and respect towards each of us.

Respect is what we offer today. Respect in the laws of our country that guarantee equal rights. Respect in the services of health and education and criminal justice irrespective of race or religion. Respect for the different ways of life that make up the mosaic of modern Britain.

And alongside respect responsibility. Responsibility to work together to strengthen understanding in our communities. Responsibility to contribute to our common life. Responsibility to work together to keep our country safe.

That informs our international policy too. To affirm the rights of Palestinians to a state of their own, based on 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital, living alongside Israel. To affirm democratic rule in Bangladesh, where the rights of all people need to be respected. To affirm independence and security in Afghanistan, where the government and people need our support. To affirm our shared responsibility to care for our planet and its people.

Many things have been said about the Muslim faith. Today is a day of pride in and praise for a faith of peace and justice. Let me end with the words of Mahatma Ghandhi, who said:

“I became more than ever convinced that it was not the sword that won a place for Islam. It was the rigid simplicity, the utter humility of the Prophet, his scrupulous regard for pledges, his intense devotion to his friends and followers, his dignity, his fearlessness, his absolute trust in God and in his own mission. These and not the sword carried everything before him and overcame every obstacle.”

The Prophet’s teachings have touched the lives of so many the world over. It is a great honour for me to celebrate with you here today, and with all Muslims across Britain. Thank you for listening. I wish you a joyous Eid Milad-e-Nabi.

Assalamu alaykum brothers and sisters i am sure most of you must have seen the beautiful programme yesterday at 8pm on Noor TV.Hazrath qibla Pir AlAUDEEN SIDDIQUI has announced that their will be the opening of an international colledge in Burnley,near Nelson.Alhamdulillah i was fascinated when i saw the video of the building,Sheikh Alaudeen also mentioned that the colledge itself has space for up to 1100 students.Admiissions will be open in February and the colledge will be opened in the first week of March inshallah.What a life chamnging experience it will be for our lucky sisters that will be able to go and study there.There is also a 4 floor building in oppostie to the colledge for accomadation.Alhamdulillah --May Allah s.w.t reward all brothers and sisters who took part in yesterdays charity appeal for the colledge.I lay before you a humble request to please pray for my Sheikh Alaudeen siddiqui naqshbandi because without them this could not have been done.All sisiters interested in going to the colledge please PM me and inshallah i will be able to send you admission forms. The Prophet’s Birthday – in Walthamstow

Today I was greatly honoured to be invited to a celebration in London of Eid al Milad-e-Nabi, the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad. I am told it was the first time a British Foreign Secretary has addressed such an event.

Around 20,000 Muslims from across the UK and Europe gathered together to celebrate their faith and the message of peace it embodies for them. Such scenes were replicated all over the world- the Mawlid is an official holiday in over 50 countries. The fact that such a large event was taking place on the streets of London speaks to the interconnectedness of of modern global society, and to the rich diversity of Britain in particular.

During my speech I spoke about the values of Islam as reflected in the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad. Themes such as compassion, charity and understanding are relevant to all of us, Muslim and non-Muslim alike.

I would just like to know how we have determined the start of Rabi al-Awwal this year? I have read the below link and it states that the 1st Rabi al-Awwal was on Monday, 15th February.

But the moon was not seen anywhere in the world on Sunday, 14th February which was the 29th Safar.

Many people will therefore be celebrating [and fasting] Eid Milad an-Nabi (sallAllahu alayhi wa aalihi wa sallam) on the wrong day.

Milad Sharif is on Saturday, 27th February as far as all the evidence shows so can anyone tell me different, and how Allama Farashwi Sahib came to the decision he has?

Although the Torah and the Injil were gradually corrupted over the course of time, the essence and moral values of the true faith are still to a large extent preserved in these books sent down from the Presence of Allah.

The 2010 Presidential Citizens Medal recognizes citizens of the USA who have performed exemplary deeds of service for their country or their fellow citizens and is one of the highest civilian awards of our Government.

Question Number 1:

Explain why your nominee should receive the Citizens Medal based on the following criteria.

Individuals:

a. Who have a demonstrated commitment to service in their own community or in communities farther from home. . Someone who has engaged in activities that have had an impact in their local community, on a community or communities elsewhere in the United States or on fellow citizens living or stationed around the world.
b. Who have helped their country or their fellow citizens through one or more extraordinary acts. Individuals who have demonstrated notable skill and grace, selflessly placed themselves in harm’s way, taken unusual risks or steps to protect others, made extraordinary efforts to further a national goal, or otherwise conducted themselves admirably when faced with unusually challenging circumstances.
c. Whose service relates to a long-term or persistent problem. Individuals who have made efforts to combat stubbornly persistent problems that impact entire communities, for example those who have taken innovative steps to address hunger, homelessness, the dropout crisis, lack of access to health care, and other issues that plague too many Americans.
d. Whose service has had a sustained impact on others’ lives and provided inspiration for others to serve. The ideal nominee for a Citizens Medal is a person whose work has had a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of others.

Shaykh Hisham has consistently worked to stop the threat of terror, particularly as it applies to the US by representing the US outside this country, almost as a roving ambassador of goodwill to Islamic countries and communities to promote peace, social harmony, and compassion while stopping the rise of violence, hatred, xenophobia and anti-American feelings that have been strongly promoted by the extremist elements in the Muslim world. He travels the world to educate individuals on the true, classical elements of Islam, focusing first and foremost on educating Muslims to clear up misunderstood concepts such as jihad, Muslims living in non Muslim lands etc…
Shaykh Hisham influences high level government officials and community leaders on fundamental issues, ultimately influencing large populations of people. For example, the Indonesian President sought Mawlana’s guidance on a number of religious issues that affected his country as a whole. This is particularly important when related to topics of combating extremism, radicalization, and promoting social cohesion between Muslim and non Muslim societies. In fact, Shaykh Hisham was in direct contact with then Vice President of Indonesia Yusuf Kalla to help negotiate their peace settlement with the Aceh province.
Shaykh Hisham has fostered the notion of unity within diversity, focusing on ways Muslims in America can integrate positively as law-abiding, productive citizens of the country. Every lecture he gives begins with the importance of obeying those who are in authority, meaning the chosen leaders of a land. Again, he promotes unity within diversity by encouraging active participation in civic life in a non-partisanship manner.

In January 1999, at great risk to his personal safety and social status within the Muslim community, Shaykh Hisham was a guest at the US State Department Open Forum where he publicly warned the American public of the Al Qaeda threat against the US, long before it was vogue to do so. After his address, he received numerous death threats, merely for proclaiming truth about ills and dangers of radical interpretations of the faith. He did this public declaration because he felt it was his obligation as an American and a Muslim to disavow the radical factions and to distinguish mainstream Muslim Americans.
Post 9-11 when most Muslims were “defending the faith,” Shaykh Hisham took a strong stance by stating that we Muslims must look at ourselves and the problem within, exhibiting the importance of social responsibility and the greater jihad of fighting one’s own bad characteristics.
Shaykh Hisham has fearlessly and at real risk to his person, stood up to denounce radical religious elements. He has stood up against those who would derail the process of interfaith dialogue and establishing a good relations with all other faiths. He has strongly persisted, despite repeated threats, to denounce violence and militant action in the name of Islam, in America or against America.

Shaykh Hisham has agressively challenged extremist views within the Muslim community, held huge conferences in LA and Washington to promote classical Islam's open and accepting approach, published a successful magazine in the same vein, publish countless books, speaks around the country and the world to change the incorrect ideals and values that many young Muslims have been indoctrinated with by extremist groups.
He sees it as an injustice that Muslims have been deprived of the classical teachings of the faith and has dedicated his life to reversing that reality, especially in America and the West.

Shaykh Hisham has strives to instill the deep spiritual dimension of the faith in the lives of his many students and admirers by presenting aspects of faith that bring people together, emphasizing the importance of good character and ethics, selflessness and compassion.
His own life serves as an admirable example of selflessness and devotion to the common ideals found in all faiths.
In his numerous addresses, he encourages good citizenry and civic duty. He exemplifies this in his own life and many strive to model his behavior.

Describe the impact that your nominee’s service has had on individuals and/or communities.
Here you should emphasize your own personal experiences with Shaykh Hisham in your area of the US, in particular how many people have been impacted, how much outreach he has done to non-Muslims and other faith communities, his work with US government officials and any other inspirational aspects of his life on you, your family and especially your community.
Shaykh Hisham ministers around the world to vulnerable youth and adults who to come to him as a way out of extremist groups. Thousands of young men in Indonesia, Singapore, UK, Lebanon, and the United States have left the radical groups and re-entered mainstream Islam through his counseling and teachings.
Shaykh Hisham has worked with at-risk youth in cities across American and Europe, giving gang members alternatives to drugs and violence in unique ways, such as meditation, sacred movement and cultural music.

I would like to say thank you to all our members for pulling of an excellent week here in Yanabi.com with their contribution and efforts to participate in some of our hot topics this week. I cannot recall the last time I felt this excited about gaining knowledge from our brothers and sisters and though some may give credits towards our new sister Razmer (I know I do) for stimulating our minds with her current storm of thought provoking questions which has gathered up enormous responses, we also mustn’t forget the hard work that our dear sister samrah has initiated to get all the sisters together and break them away from the clutches of fear and make them participate more, Alhumdulilah we are seeing the fruits of that already and with that I say in your face to those who thought that girls where only good for cooking and cleaning.

Also we mustn’t discredit our brother SBO from his recognition for keeping the forum alive with a little bit of fun and also for keeping us aware on what else has been happening in other parts of the world.

Quite frankly sisters, I missed you all!!! We went from many sisters, to barely any sisters to none at all.

A family can only be complete when all members are present or even exist... our family here looks to be consisting of brothers only, but let me tell you, there's no life without sisters!! (I mean this both literally and metaphorically)
Recently, I have decided to reveal my thoughts that sisters aren't given or treated as they are entitled to. So if you guys really want to be treated fairly, and become able to voice your opinion without any fear...then step up now and help me achieve an environment which is comfortable and fruitfull.

I am fully aware of some communities who totally leave their sisters out when they have events and then have the nerve to turn around and accuse them of being corrupt. Well brothers… wake up and smell the coffee! If you’re not prepared to teach them the right way then prepare for them to be misguided! It’s as simple as that. The sisters in your communities are most likely the sisters who will influence your children in the future, so if it’s not for their sake then think of the future of this Ummah!
A mother is the biggest influence on a child, she is a child’s teacher and guide. If you’re not going to teach her by involving her in dawah, then who will you help to teach and involve? Think about the damage that is being done.

I have spoken to my shaykh about this problem in our society and their response was that it is necessary to include women as even the blessed Sahaba radiAllah anhum were taught by our Beloved mother Aisha radiAllah anha. Such a great mission put into her blessed hands. As you will fully well know, they were taught side by side all with the mission of propagating this beautiful Deen for us sinners to sit and benefit today…..both men and women!

So, what I want to know is... what's up sisters? Why aren't you posting any longer?

And ofcourse... What can I and the Team do to help you?

Also brothers, What is your opinion on this topic?

As many of you will know, it's been one year since the Israeli Defence Force breached human rights and the Geneva Convention in a 22 day assault on the Gaza Strip, Palestine. Does anyone else feel uneasy that it coincided with the 10th of Muharram?

You can also talk about what you did to help the people there, or how you raised awareness. Bear in mind that explicitly saying how much you donated isn't recommended as it's revealing a humble, good deed.

Viva Palestina, 1300 or so dead from last year's massacre. May Allah grant those who suffered from the attacks Jannat-ul-Firdaus, and may Allah subhana wa ta'ala guide the Palestinians and the rest of the Ummah during such harsh times. Ameen.
