For the Londonistanis - Shaykh Tijani, AAR, Hamza Robertson and others will be in London tonight. Insha'Allah pre-register on www.radicalmiddleway.co.uk before you go. The Bradford event had queues to go into the Alhambra Studio and I think people who had not registered, had to wait in a separate queue to go in. It was packed out. It's a really good event masha'Allah so try to go tonight if you live in London. It's the final event of the tour. JazakAllah Khair

SubhanAllah, so beautiful! The Dalail Al-Khayrat gathering takes place every Thursday in Keighley. Keighley is so blessed to have Shaykh Idris there! :)

looks like you all had a great time, Mash'ALLAH Asheeqe U RASOOL (S.A.W.) are very talented (Mash'ALLAH) .  morrocan Zikr seems good and Sheikh Tijani (WELL, what can i say) i'd love to meet him/see him live - verY electrifying LoL (in a good way) where is he from (country)?  Mash'ALLAH may ALLAH SWT protect all who participated, and bring them altogheter (atleast) one more time, Insh'ALLAH,  so those who never went might get a chance to see them.......

AKA 786 (Ahsen) went to see them in london on saturday poor guy went to the wrong place/adress ( the pavilion) lol,  but Al-Hamdulilah ended up at the right venue in the end (wfia centre) lol

Can we use the centre, pretty please? lol. Actually, it would be perfect....Fridays at 7:15pm or 7:30pm before seerah class and Insha'Allah sisters would then stay for seerah class so we would have more people attending! I would bring the tea and biscuits. You can have a biscuit too lol

Okay, for you sis, I will make green tea and coffee :D but I can't cut down on tea and baklawa hehe. My best tea and baklawa moment was in Granada in a little Moroccan cafe...That was some good tea and baklawa! Right, that's 2 sisters and 1 nut...come on sisters, we need more joining our meetings lol.

Sis, we're supposed to be doing that already on Sundays and it hasn't been working. It's harder for sisters...commitments at home etc. But I definitely agree, I wish you lived in Bradford!!!

Samrah, can you come at that time on Fridays? And any sisters who live in Bradford that are reading this thread, please reply or you can PM me insha'Allah. It would be a great opportunity for us all to meet, have a cup of tea and start a halaqah! :)

As for the Friday deen and chai nights, I am up for it Insha'Allah. I'll start asking some sisters and see what response we get insha'Allah. Let's make du'a that the idea becomes reality and a huge success Insha'Allah.

On the evening of Saturday the 20th, a wanderer came out of the walthamstow central station and took a sigh after spending 45 min underground ! Inhaling the first breath of fresh, chilly air he moved on to his destination picturing the route clearly on his mind as he had seen on the online website. Passing a bunch of teenagers smoking weed and feeling complete alien to the surrounding, he still remained adament onto his path keeping in mind what awaited him at the other end.

After travelling another 10min on foot, he passed the second avenue street which ensured him that he was on the right track. During the whole excitement, he managed to overshoot the place and a bit further up realized that he needs to ask somebody for directions now. A local shopkeeper then directed him to go few metres back on the same road.

Upon arrival at the door, the Pavillion looked strangely deserted. No wonder he missed it as he was expecting to see sights of turbans of all shapes and sizes plus the dazling colours of hijabs around that place. Speaking with the gaurd, he was informed that there is no event taking place tonight and the place is going to be closed in 10min. Bewildered by the answer, he confirmed the address with him line by line starting from the name of the place onto the post code as quoted below;

In a desperate plea for help, he rang Zahir b (my hero!! :D) to check the address on the main website and was told that the one above is wrong and he needs to head towards 119 grove road instead. The world around him shattered, as he was already late for the event and the doors were supposed to be closed by now. One name rang clearly on his mind, and in the midst of all the confusion he managed to find the words to express his feelings, "Sister Nosheen, how could she?". Oh the agony, getting himself together he journeyed onwards seeking the new direction from the same shopkeeper he met earlier. With the last ounce of energy, he finally arrived to see that the function hasn't started yet even though he was nearly an hour late !

Moral of the story: Never get directions from a women, she will make you go round and round !! :P

The least you can do is offer me some backlawa to begin with :D freshly hand-made and not the ones from any stores/backery :P And then most likely I will think about whether to forgive you or not :rolleyes:

Actually I won't ..... ohh did my dear sister just get cold feets? :P Hehe because there is nothing to forgive you for in the first place, things do go wrong and it was partially my fault not to check the website at all. I knew you had pasted from the main website so no hard feelings at all. But we all learn our lessons here and there :)

I was just messing, the whole thing was meant to create humour while sharing a certain passion. And I'm sure you must be laughing your heads off while presenting this "innocent" outlook of appologies :P lolz thats more like it as the smile of our sisters matter :) and yeah duas would be great too .... JazakAllah kheir ya ukhti :laugh:

Yes, I learnt my lesson. Never trust men...Just joking :P But really, I have learnt my lesson and Insha'Allah next I will make sure event addresses are correct :P

This is Baklawa! Yum! :D (especially with a good cup of chai :D)

CHAI, hobnobs, choky digestives, baklava, nuts, i think am going crackers (and cheese) sisters i dont want to butt in but since you talkin about chai have you ever  had somali chai:ermm:? starbucks do something similar to a somali chai.  MashALLAH they (the somalis know how to) cook some reali nice tea - cinamon/cardomon chai its reali nice al share their recipe theres not much in it but if you do decide to try,  try not to get hooked on it lol its very addictive

garam garam somali chai - the recipe

put  3-4 (sticks) of cinamon cut in small pieces and 5-6 slightly crushed cardomons and 2-3 cloves in a pan of 1/2 a litre of cold water add 2-3 tea bags bring to boil.  once boiled slow the heat and let it simmer for about 15 mins (on low heat) add milk and sugar (to your tasting and colour) and let it cook on low heat till the tea comes to boil.  somali chai is ready:) - drink N serve with buscuits/dates/baklawa/etc etc or sambhosa's (lol) as the somali's call samosa's ..........

and brothers do try this at home, seriously you want be dissapointed, well nice.

@ Sister Nosheen: Oh dear, here we go again. You like it easy now, don't you? Well, if I came to bradford I deserve a full 3-course meal courtesy to the very own local chef, sis nosheen :P and after that she better prepare her brother/father to give me a tour of 'bradistan' :D all free of charge ofcourse .... 'fisabilillah' excemptions apply :hehe: plus since your a national here, mashAllah, and I'm a visitor from abroad, it fits well if I get a soveniour on my way back:cool:. That does it, I think I have flying sandal coming my way anytime soon :hehe: but no worries I have done my homework. I made a pact with brother Zahir to share the backlawas when I get them, but if on the other hand things go wrong and it's sandals instead, he gets to take em all :w00t:

@ Zahir pai: How about you save us from the trouble and make a delicious one for us yourself? It's best to try something for the first time freshly made from the hands of the expert ;) And don't forget the killer ingredient, pour some 'love' into it :D

Lol, sisters, sisters calm down, it was just a joke :D.  Although i think  sister 'Ishqu Qalbi Ya Habib Allah صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْه وَاٰله وَسَلَّم has got it in for me now, i've got a roza today and she's been posting pictures of some beautiful food. :w00t: - but before i get a flying chappal my way too, i have to say that was unintentional lol ;).

Back on topic, i went to an event in manchester called gateway to divine mercy in 2008 where i first came across shaykh Tijani. Before he came on, the atmosphere was pretty subdued, people just listening and taking in other speeches but once he came on everyone was wide awake laughing there heads off mashallah - he's like an islamic stand up comedian and its a shame the time was limited as it seemed he could have gone on for hours. He's definitely the type of person who could have a big influence on the youth of today. I wanted to attend the neslon event but couldn't make it in the end......Inshallah next time!

SubhanAllah, this thread has gone way off-track. It was actually supposed to be, "A passion for backlawa with somali chai" :hehe: Just wanted to attend my dear sister's query above.

Actually, sister with etisalat internet connection this is a main issue with such sites that your proxy (i assume) is shared with others and even though you haven't downloaded anything but you either get the above message or something along the lines, "your ip address 120.**.***.* is already downloading a file" which is not you but someone using the same ip as it appears to them.

The best for you to do is ask sister nosheen (or another sister) to email the file to you in their convenience. But if your lucky, say in the early hours of the morning, you might get through and be able to download it.

I've managed to download the file after a few tries - Is there no way of attaching Mp3 files? Im pretty sure i've seen it done before - Anyway, if anyones having trouble downloading it then let me know and i'll email it to you.

I will start off with this,

A return trip from london to liverpool : £66.20
Taking a cab from station to his work place : £8.00
Sightseeing (visiting blackburn + manchester) :  £££ [Zahir b's pocket :P]
Staying over for 3 days and giving him a big hug on his birthday by Albert docks (liverpool) precisely at 00:00 at night : PRICELESS!!

There is something money can't buy, for everything else there is ... errr .. elder brother's pocket :hehe:

Even though it was a surprise visit and a shocker for brother Zahir ("Zoor ka jhatka dheere se lage";) ) but yet he stood by his words mashAllah and accomodated me well throughout with a 10/10 hospitality although I did benefit him as he got a day off from work on monday :P. I'm sure if I would have seen liverpool without him, it would have been a dull and boring place (to my liking) but he made my journey so lively and enthusiastic overall.

And let me not get started about the cooking bit, I can still feel the tortilllas wrap melt in my mouth mashAllah. Although, a caution would be to avoid the somali chai made by him unless your stomach is clogged and you seek a cure for that :P. Nah, just messing the 'killer ingredient' does the trick ;) even though he admitted it was done to 40% of the original so I can't wait to taste the 100% one day inshAllah :D

The best part was I got to meet his parents alhumdulillah and you can just see where the respect and values come from. Aunty was a lovely lady and made me feel like one of the family in that short stay. I loved the way she 'scolded' the big guy, making it seem as if he was just 10 for that short duration. When I mentioned this to her about moms, she said "hes still my baby" aww subhanAllah.

Brother Zahir mentions his father a lot, about how he is the best father and things that he taught to them directly and indirectly. When we reached the graveyard to recite Fatiha on his blessed grave, I can just stand in respect to this great man who has seen so much in life yet never neglected his family and instead of praying for his forgiveness (which was never needed to be honest), the only words that came out my mouth was for Allah to make us a father just like my uncle and for uncle to keep praying for his children so the blessing never falls out from our head. Ameen

I can go on and on but better get back to studies now:pinch:. My appologies for not being active around dear family and you know who to blame for that :P. InshAllah, I will try my best to help in anyway possible but would be busy until my exams are over. Remember me in your duas and you all are in mines. JazakAllah kheir

Although, I can relate the first line with my love to Beloved sallalahu alaihi wasalam. The more I was looked down, the more I learned about Him sallalahu alaihi wasallam and the more His love grew deep inside me.

And Zahir pai, you better not copy my idea of 'hunt' list. It was copyrighted :crying: Basically, people on YaNabi can expect me to drop down 'someday' inshAllah at their place when I hunt down their location precisely. My target cities are Bradford, Birmingham, Sherfield, Manchester, Norway , RAK (UAE) and more to be added laterz :cool:
