Bomb rips through crowd in Pakistan, killing at least 40

KARACHI, Pakistan - A bomb exploded during evening prayers at a park in this southern Pakistani city Tuesday, killing at least 40 people and wounding dozens. An angry mob burned cars and threw stones at police, who fired into the air to disperse the crowd, a witness said.

A bomb was planted under a stage prepared by a Sunni Muslim group at Nishtar Park in Karachi, Pakistan's largest city, for a prayer service to celebrate the birthday of Prophet Muhammad, said area police chief Shah Nawaz.

"We don't know who might be responsible, but we are handling a big tragedy," Nawaz told The Associated Press.

Interior Minister Aftab Khan Sherpao told AP that at least 40 people were killed. "It is a very unfortunate incident," he said.

Semi Jamali, a doctor at a nearby hospital where at least 24 bodies were taken, said dozens of people were being treated for injuries.

Scenes of mass confusion broke out after the explosion in the park, where hundreds of people had gathered for the prayer service.

Scores of men wearing long white robes clambered onto the stage to assist victims, and an angry mob burned cars and pelted police with stones after the blast, said witness Mohammed Asif. Police forces fired into the air to disperse the crowds.

People were seen carrying away bloodied victims and placing them into ambulances. Four men carried one victim in what looked like a white sheet that was soaked with blood.

"I saw body parts everywhere. I saw people collecting body parts and putting them in ambulances," Asif said.

Jandal Pir Mohammad laid to rest in Sibbi

Sibbi: The Central Secretary of Anjuman Talba-e-Islam, Jandal Pir Mohammad, who died in the Karachi bomb blast incident yesterday, laid to rest today in Sibbi city of Balochistan province.

Several people including the leading figures attended the funeral prayer of the late Pir Mohammad. He was laid to rest in a graveyard adjoining to Baba Jumbul shrine in Sibbi 

This BBC report has been updated elsewhere as I read. The newer report says, the body of one of the heads has been found and that this was a single bomb blast by a single suicide bomber. But the latter is yet to be confirmed.

We don't feel any difference between Jews, Hindus and Khawarij wahabis.

All are friends & the enemies of Islam & Muslims.

Allama Kokab noorani Okarwi was contacted in a local TV channle talk show live, and he said he is fine and been shifted to home yesterday. He said that no government official asked his health, although people from all over the world have contacted. Hundreds of troops were placed on high alert as funerals took place.

Three days of mourning have been declared in Sindh province.

Sunni Muslim leaders were among those killed in the attack in Karachi's Nishtar Park - on a wooden stage where religious leaders were sitting.

There were fears the atrocity could start a cycle of tit-for-tat attacks between militants from Pakistan's majority Sunni and minority Shia communities.

Officials condemned the attack and urged people to remain calm.

Owais Raza Qadri, buried the 3 shuhada near the Eidgah mosque with his own hands. He was full of tears and crying. All read "Kaabay ke Badrudduja Tum pe Karoron Durood" during the burial. Owais Raza Qadri, told DHOOM TV, a local TV channel, that we sunnis recite this Maqbool-e-Bargaah Kalaam of Alahazrat, as it was Alahazrat's Wasiyyat and the Wasiiyat of other Mashaaikh.  (Subhan Allah) The Clipping was shown, the Janaza having thousands all were reciting Kabay k badruduuja, and just after the burial all were reciting it.
 No doubt, the shuhada were smiling, the world saw it.

Mufti Mukhtar's body after funeral prayers sent to Mardan

KARACHI: The body of Mufti Mukhtar Ahmad Qadri, who was martyred in suicide bomb carnage at Nishtar Park here, was sent to Mardan after funeral prayer. 

The funeral prayers of the leaders of Tahrik-e-Awam Ahl-e-Sunnat Haji Hanif Bilo and Hafiz Mohammad Taqi would also be offered today, while Mufti Mukhtar Ahmad's funeral prayer was offered at Darul Uloom Amjadia, Sharfabad, following early morning prayers today, which was attended by several local people including the students of the seminaries. Later, the mortal remain of Mufti Mukhtar Ahmad was sent to Mardan.

Mufti Mukhtar Ahmad was the president and Sheikul Hadees of Darul Uloom Amjadia, Sharfabad and he was residing in Liaquatabad area.

On the other hand, the funeral prayer of the leader of Awam Ahl-e-Sunnat, Haji Hanif Bilo would be offered this morning at 10.00 A.M. at Memon Masjid, Bolton Market, while that of Hafiz Taqi's at Eidgah, Jama Cloth also at 10.00 A. M. in the morning.

The funeral prayers of Mohammad Ashraf Qadri's two sons Mohammad Ali and Ahmad Raza and his nephew Mohammad Shahzad would be offered at 9.00 A. M. this morning at Darul Uloom Amjadia, Sharfabad.

Some more updates on those martyred by the Mîlâd bombing. `Allâma Qârî Ghulâm Yâsîn Qâdrî, who is a member of the Minhaj-ul-Qur'ân `Ulamâ' Council and imam of Jâmi`a Masjid Shayr Shâh was also martyred in the nashter Park tragedy. He was also among the Sunni scholars present. This clearly was an attempt to remove the figure-heads of the Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamâ`ah.

Explosion rocks Karachi Nashtar Park, scores feared dead

Karachi: A loud explosion occurred here at the  Nashtar Park area on Tuesday. Scores are feared dead as fleshes of human bodies were seen scattered at the explosion site.

At least 40-50 have been injured in the explosion; however the figure is expected to rise, according to reports.

The explosion occurred at a place where a religious congregation with regard Seerat-e-Nabi was being held. The congregation was organised by Jamat Ahl-e-Sunnat.

According to reports quoting eyewitnesses, the explosion went off exactly under the stage where the religious scholars of the said religious party were performing Magrib (Sunset) prayer.

Ambulances have begun to arrive to transport injured to the nearby hospitals.

Also, we spoke with Syedi Amin Mian Barkati, who is in Mahrera Shariff, India at the moment and expressed his deep emotions and in tears expressing his gratitude for all the Ullema E Ahlesunnat who were shaheed on this tragic day.
